The Reason This Place is Great!
This thread will be pruned. Meaning only posts with a top 5 will remain ... all others will be deleted soon after they are made.
This is a little different than just listing your favorite poster, because you don't necessarily have to list your top 5 favorites. You can list somebody that you don't know, and just describe why you think they are a great member of the forum. No posts go in this thread, unless they are listing 5 members and describing their importance to you personally or to the forums, so if you want to add any commentary, list your 5 members in the post before you do. This will prevent hijacking, and keep the thread as something that can be read with pleasure, and not as a chore , as wading through endless babble, and it will also keep out the comments that are negative. For every 10 members that post in this thread with their list, I'll post another 5. (that's not a hint to mention me if you want me to mention you...lol) Here are my first five members. Don't worry if I didn't get to you yet, because I'm sure I will, even if you don't realize it. I will be getting to all the girls , but you probably knew that. (since we have so few, I have to mention one per post)
addr0ck He has always been a favorite member of mine, even though we have had a few spats from time to time. We both seem to have a lot of the same interests, so we are always running into eachother at the various forums and threads. He always provides excellent insights , whether he's referring to the latest fanboy movie, or discussing his in depth Oscar analysis, he's always interesting to chat with , and he better never consider leaving our great forums again without a letter to the members , and even then he's still not allowed to leave. [-X
dolcevita I often start drooling into a cup when she's at the forums. =P~ Now that she has that hot Monica avatar back, even moreso. She is a burst of energy that is infectious , and if it wasn't for her nice PM to me around the first of the year, I don't know if I'd be here at the forums. (blame her )She's a great moderator, and a great contributer to the website with her reviews and other pieces. She's always fun at the forums , as she really cares about the members and the state of the community. She is a great conversationalist, as anybody who has ever been involved in a conversation with her can attest to. She is a treasure for any forum community, and we are very lucky she found her way to ours. =D>
What can I say about the infamous Ultimate Troll, BKB? I've had a long relationship with BKB at the forums. I was his only friend when everybody else was throwing stones at him, even when he didn't deserve it. He's a villian, and just like in the movies, where the heroes are only worthwhile if they have great villians, I believe the same holds true to the forums. BKB provides a service that everybody should understand is invaluable , even if you would like to to beat him to death with a blunt object. He's a good guy too, despite the perception some may have because of his theatrics, and I couldn't be happier having his trolling ways gracing our forums on a nightly basis. rink:
Eagle After the last administrator we had to deal with ( ) , Eagle could have been a big jerk, and still would have looked like a saint by comparison. Luckily for us , Eagle turned out to be a swell guy, always eager to help, and never above listening to our concerns. He's a savior, in a way. He's never too good to get into conversations with us at the forum , and he presents himself as just one of the guys. He's also doing great things with the website to give us all a website home that we can all be proud of. We all really owe him a debt of gratitude, and the best way to pay it back, is to be the best members and/or contributers to the website and forums that we can be. :2up:
neostorm Huh? Why on Earth would I mention him, when I barely know him? To answer the question I asked myself, it's because it's easy to notice that he's a good contributer to the community, even though our paths don't cross very often. He always seems to post with a positive and enthusiastic attitude ( ) , and when I see that, it rubs off on me. We need more posters like that, and less of the sour and bitter dispositions. ( ). Maybe he only posts like that in the threads that I've seen, and he's vile and vulgar in all of the others, but I really doubt I am off that badly, and I look forward to getting to know him better.
Well, that is my first 5, and as you can see , it isn't the conventional list that you might have expected, but I'm going to have a lot more than just 5 members to mention, and there are really some great members that I would feel honored to tip my hat to in this thread, so don't let me down. I hope I get to mentioning everyone! Remember, I'm only posting 5 more every time 10 members post their list of 5, so get to it! \:D/

Loyalfromlondon - He's a LOTR fan and he's unbeatable at movie mayhem: and he's interested in Bigfoot!
dolcevita - what can be said? She is the QUEEN! :worthy: One of the nicest (and smartest) posters anywhere. I truly respect her.
Rod- My favorite person to discuss movie awards with. He's funny and friendly.
Chris- Nice and pleasant. He always makes interesting comments in the Oscar forums. He's one of the most underrated posters on these boards.
Dkmuto - I miss him not posting as much as he did at BOM. Sarcastic and insightful, esp. to be so young. He has good taste in movies, maybe too good.

Terminator1997 The dude rocks. He's got 4000 posts but I seriously don't know where he got them all from. Good dude.
Mr. X He's my punching bag. After a long hard days work, I can come here and crack a newfy joke at him and he'll never understand it. That and I'm pretty sure he's gay. Not sure but I'll figure it out soon enough.
baba Our little foreigner. Without him this site wouldn't be. He worked more then any of us did (maybe except KJ himself) but he keeps on trucking like a southern woman on pancakes.
Eagle Without him we wouldn't be. Well maybe we would be but not be in here. Gotta give kudos to him for taking us all in when a lot got banned from the forsaken forum.
bkb It's always a pleasure to read what he's got to say.

I'll do the five above me (as I started writing, damnit!)
Maverikk - Yeah, okay. He can be a bit hot headed at times, and while I don't always agree with what he says, I can't deny his importance to the forum. The forum needs older members to keep things going. It needs mixture. The more perspectives, the better. Besides, he knows how to write, he's often amusing, and he made this topic!
Attodr - An interesing member. I don't know him that well, but I enjoy reading his insight in the Oscar forum. Not only is he a good writer, but he's one of the most mature members. I've never seen him blow up or argue with the slightest bit of irritation. He doesn't stoop to the level that many of us do when it comes to insulting those, regardless of what they say. Although he could use a little more spunk (;)), you've gotta love the members that make everyone feel welcome.
Terminator1997 - Asides from his pretentious post above, Termi's a great guy. Not only is he funny, but he's most always in a good mood. And, what's more, he drinks. He knows what good beer is and how Natural Light ranks among good beers. That's all that matters, no?
rusty - musty, crusty, dusty, rusty. Stupid, but fun. Let's think. Has anyone appeared less innocent randomnly calling people a commie or a hippie? rusty's got skills. True skills.
neostorm - He's da shit. I don't know why he hasn't met up with box_2005 yet, but he's a nice guy. He started the "rap" threads, too, and those rank among the most humorous threads, if only for our desperate attempts to appear gangsta. Plus, you've got to appreciate the work he's putting into the Book Club.

I won't do the same, I did last time, in RAWSAW's thread because, well, I did them last time
addr0ck/andaroo - Okay, well, it can't be said that he and I are always in an agreement. Actually, the chance of us agreeing on a subject is close to a chance that a lightning will strike twice in the same spot. Also, am I not always fond of his movie taste, but an opinion remains an opinion. Nonetheless, he is a great poster and one of my new favorites. I always enjoy reading his comments and rarely do I enjoy a civil argument with anyone as much as I do with him. We disagree, but yet he never fails to bring up good and convincing points in his arguments without getting on a personal level. Well, almost Moreover, enjoying his sarcasm and cynism (which is close to mine) and looking forward to reading more from him.
Insomniacdude - One of the first guys from the boards (BOM, that is) that I got closer with. (no, not in THAT way, you pervs!). He's a nice guy and always fun to talk to. Quite different than most of the people I met online and definitely one of those who I'd want to hang out with the most. I'd imagine we'd have fun as we seem to share some similar taste in different things. Even though he'll have to bear with some of my jokes Oh and he has a good humor too.
Rogue Commander - Frankly, I didn't know him at all at BOM. I don't even know if he has ever posted there. The first time we had contact was here when I PM'ed him the differences between the original and edited version of Darkness. That PM reulsted in a great, ongoing and fruitful PM conversation from which I learned that Jeff has a great taste in movies and is overall a very nice guy who is really rather peaceful most of the time and doesn't like arguments. Good in my book, that is
Jon Lyrik - Okay, he's weird to say the least. After countless conversations with him, I can safely say that. But is it a bad thing? No, I don't think so. In a way, he is unique. His personality and especially the fact that he is very young and yet more intelligent than most people twice his age and I am not exaggerating. Seriously, he is smart and once you get used to his antics, he's a lot of fun too. He has a good sense of humor, even though it's very bitter, cynical and sarcastic humor. Nevertheless, it's a good one, for my taste. He and I differ in our opinions on some issues and agree on others, but overall he's a great and very supportive guy, who I'd like to meet in person quite a bit. I wish he'd post a bit more.
Zingaling - He is part of what I consider the essence of the boards. A lighthearted movie fan, who probably has the most similar movie taste to mine as we agree on movies in 90% of cases (the rest is for the cases when he likes xXx and such :razz). He is also nice and surpsingly humble and down-to-earth. Not to mention that he is a good box-office predictor as well. I like his comments on box-office as well on movies and I think he's a good mod as well.
And sorry to copy your idea, Mav, but I also will post another one for every ten that are posted after mine.

Michael Boy it's fun to fight with him over Jennifer Garner (though it is a fact that she's manly), but it wouldn't be as fun to be here without him. Always insightful in the tv forum and always fun to have a convo with.
Dr. Lecter One of the few germans I enjoy. Huge contributor to the boards (just look at his post count god dammit) and I don't think I've ever seen him unhappy or angry. Good guy.
Torrino Our local stoner. Our local hippy liberal stoner. Every site has to have one of em and there he is. But in all seriousness I shouldn't use big words for it will not only freak him out but it I believe I had him lost at local. A great mod to WoKJ and hope he stays around.
Neostorm He's from friggin' Canada! That alone deserves greatness to be bestowed upon him! But he's also black. Fight on my brotha!

Here's 5 for you.
Sorry, if you don't want to be mentioned in a GOLDIE post.
- addr0ck/andaroo - most interesting and maybe smartest poster. (yes I know he doesn't like me - maybe others are the same so just assume this for all - LOL)
- Libs - insightful and to the point.
- DolceVita - Very interesting poster.
- Rusty - reminds me of the class pranksters, he cracks me up.
- Eagle - for seemingly being a nice regular guy

Let's see...
Dolce-She (usually  ) always has something intelligent to say when she posts, and when she doesn't, who cares because she is Dolce. She takes part in most of the forum discussion, has a wide range of interests, and does a great job moderating. Plus, I admire her passion for foreign films. She's just an overall great person.
Rod-What can I say about Rod? He speaks for himself that's for sure (And that's a good thing).
Ripper-Lately I've begun to appreciate her a lot more. Not that I didn't in the past, but I love per posts lately. She speaks her mind and doesn't care what people think (Usually I agree, though). Plus, her avatars rock.
Atoddr-One of my favorite "awards" posters. When I see he has posted in a thread in there, I always check it. He makes great predictions and is just an all-around nice person.
Eagle- A down to earth, great guy. Not at all what you'd expect an administrator to be like, but what everyone wants one to be like. He's doing a great job with the site, as well as the forums. Kepp up the great work!

Oh alright, ill post a proper post but only because people are being nice to me these days
Neostorm - Because he thinks im his bitch but ive so got him whupped. And hes a dirty bitch in bed. So easy to get along with it hurts.
Rusty - Because he put me down and i want to have his babies. No really; Rusty [and a few other users like Snrub] are guys who i could bitchfight with until the break of dawn - but then after that It's not personal; good banter [although a little too much on the Garner Penis side of things] and a carefree attitude as welll as secretly being my bitch with Neo means that Rusty gets my thumby upy.
Rusty whilst ive lured you into a false sense of security, let me hypnotise you with Lindsay Lohans breasts
*when you awaken you will think that Jennifer Garner is the most beautiful woman on earth and you will openly admit you have sex with lego*
:-$ And your back in the room
TonyMontana - I know squat all about Mr Montana apart from a) He likes games. B) he has a dog and...c) he likes jennifer garner. Need i say anything else? No i joke to much i wonder how i can keep myself together some days. Seriously though Tony is a funny guy - he knows how to joke on forums without seeming offensive unlike anyone else; a trait sarcastic brits can only dream of mastering.
Dr Lecter - Because he has shared the experience of viewing an image of Hugo Weaving, nakedly hugging his brother with me. He feels my pain...amoungst other things \:D/
Dolcevita Too damn cultured, creative and smart for her own good! Dolcevita is a terrific moderator with a firm head [id hope so] on her shoulders and after her picture appeared in KJ she immediately made all [straight] members ever crumble under her rule. Although with her quick wit she could probobly have pulled that off without a picture anyway. Big words confuse me, but you can guarantee you'll find your fair deal of juxtaposes and procrastinations in Dolces posts. Deciphering it for stupid people is like cracking the Da Vinci Code. Only without Audrey Tatou or Tom Hanks.
Honourable mentions [but they know i think they kick] : Mr X, Libs, Xiayun, Mat, Masonmyers, Rogue, the list goes on!

Eagle-an upstanding guy who let us hijack the little forum on his site and drive it up into a thriving (if stagnant in membership) forum. What could have just turned into a temporary refuge that would have fizzled out within two weeks like DailySmile turned into what Mojo was before any of these banning streaks.
Dr. Lecter-he scratched my back, I'll scratch his. Other than that, he is a likable and intelligent poster with a good sense of humor and also a good debater.
Mr. X-a great guy who turned in his mod badge and his almost 10,000-post count account to stick it to the man. Likable, good-natured and overall well-rounded.
rusty-the funniest guy on here. The only dude alive who could make a seemingly lame running gag like calling people commies at random consistently funny.
MovieDude-he is by far the BOMer/KJer who I have communicated with for the longest period of time, since late summer/early fall 2003. I never extensively contacted anyone else outside of the forum until last summer, in fact. A very smart and likable guy who can really convince you to sway your predictions on a movie (though sometimes it doesn't work well...ha ha). I probably wouldn't have even gotten into communicating with the posters outside of the forum if I didn't start with him.

Dr. Lector - Although we don't always agree on the same thing, I totally respect his opinions on various movies. We don't get the chance to talk as much as I would hope, though, but when we do it's usally tons of fun. A totally decent guy. I fully expect him to come to St. Louis one day...even though I loathe the 20 minute discusiion about genitals.
TonyMontana - One of the funniest people whom I've ever talked to. He's always a riot, and a big gamer. One that isn't a fanboy, at that....a quality that seems to be harder and harder to find online. His posts always make me laugh....whenever he does decide to post. Can't wait to get XBox Live, if only to play some games with him.
BKB - Damnit. He's ignorant, stupid, redundant, and an asshole, but god damnit, he's hard to ignore. I both love and hate his posts. He's a breath of fresh air, though. Most website are full of people that are afraid to step on other peoples' toes. But BKB will stpe on your toes, steal your credit cards, and rape your dog. I expect our trip to Star Wars to be as fun, loud, and obnoxious as he is.
That's all I care to say right now.

Eagle - It's impossible NOT to list Eagle. What hasn't he done for all of us? I mean, in our time of forum depression, he let's us hang out at his crib, and eventually, he works to make it our second home. He pays to let us talk to each other. He gives members oppurtunities to work on articles, reviews, predictions, etc. He's done so much for us. He's da bomb, yo!
torrino - There's not many nice things to say about whorino, but I'll try. He's a pothead. He's a drunk. He's stuck up. He's a sucky editor. He's starving for affection. Hey! Not bad! I thought I would end up writing bad stuff about him! Hehe. Seriously, though, he's a great mod. He takes time to edit articles and reviews. He's forced me to watch excellent movies on many occasions. Sure, he's a pothead, but with that avatar, his sense of box office, and his stupid, yet fun ideas, you can't help but slightly... like... him. Ew.
Dr. Lecter - He's got a great and similar taste in movies to me. He's a great box office predictor. He's a nice guy. He's german. He's, uh, german. He starts the best threads and manages them well. You gotta love Lecter (if you name is not Goldie). He's one of the first friends I made at BOM, and we talk to this day. I know he's there if I gotta talk to someone, or if whorino is too high.
BKB - I'm a BKB fan. This guy is the fun of WOKJ. He's a fellow AVP fan who also loves White Noise (though I just liked it). He loved Saw, too. We've got a similar taste in movies (though, not all... he hates Japanese Horror). He's got an unusual, yet individual posting style. He's one of the funniest posters here, especially when you make him mad. He takes posting emoticons to a whole new level. It's fun to argue with him... but just don't lose.
rusty - The rust-mister brings a smile to my face with some of his anti-commie/hippie posts. He's trademark lines are always nice to see ("I'm lost"; "sup bitches"). He ain't no ones bitch, bitch. Keep on truckin', rusty.
I have a few more to do. MovieDude, matatonio, bABA, etc.

Ok, time for my second list.
bABA He's a friend and one of the most honorable people I know. He is second to none in the energy he puts into the forums, the website , and talking to just about every member privately it seems. I don't know how he fits it all into a 24 hour day. One thing is for sure, we are all very lucky to have bABA running the show on a lot of fronts here, because he gets the job done. He's come up with some outstanding ideas for the website, and he's always involved in several threads, either his own, or another members. I have often wondered if bABA has a cloning machine, because I just can't fathom how he gets around like he does. :Respect:
loyalfromlondon My bastard of a sparring partner :duel ...lol Loyal is without a doubt one of the best contributers at the forums. He makes his way to all of the forums, and always provides great insights for us all. He's also the host of all of our awards shows in the Oscar forum, like the Golden Globes, Oscars, etc..., and always does a great job with it. He recently became one of the writers for the website, doing reviews for DVDs, so everybody be sure to check those out. Loyal is another of the great conversationlists who you can always talk to about any movie subject that comes up.
Dkmuto He has been one of the best members at the forums for as long as I can remember. I even named a bridge after him once. I recently asked if he could be my exclusive editor for the stuff I write for the website. Dkmuto has never been involved in any sordid escapades at the forums, and he seems to know his way around movies and TV very well. He's one of those members that I've always respected from a distance, but don't really come into contact with in conversations very often. That's something I would like to change.
Ripper Cynthia has the second best musical tastes at the forums. (If you have to guess who I think has the best....) She's another one of our brilliant conversationalists, who can talk about any subject here, and she's never afraid to speak her mind, even if it means telling me to grow up and pipe down, which humbles me pretty quickly. :wf: She's made many friends here at the forums, which is a testament to her sparkling personality, and she is so well liked, nobody really minds having to strain sometimes to decipher her typoed filled posts, because the intelligent content shines through loud and clear.
MikeVentrella Mike gets so many points just for being a big Beatles fan, but he also adds plenty to discussions that he takes part in. He knows his movies, music, and world issues very well, and it's always a treat to get into a debate with him. I don't always agree with him, but I'm always interested in his point of view , regardless. Mike also represents something great for me, and that's an older guy. \:D/ I don't get too many of those, so when I do, it restores my youth at this place. A Mike Ventrella post is always sure to have an intelligent point made, and he often provides insights that I wouldn't have considered.

You're too sweet, Libs.
I'll give my five so this post isin't "pruned".
Dolcevita - Intelligent, charming, beautiful... pretty much any positive word you can think of ad nauseam. The best thing about her is the fact that she truly care's about others and is always willing to be a motormouth when you need it and a shoulder to cry on when you need it.
torrino - Even if we didin't share nearly identical taste in music, politics, and movies - he'd still be a cool guy to talk you. One of the few posters that I try and talk to outside of the forums.
addr0ck/andaroo - For the longest time I always thought he was vastly under appreciated as a poster, but it seems he's had a revival of sorts within the community and you all are recognizing his brilliance now. Smart, funny.... extremely valuable to the community, in my opinion.
Snrub - Has an uncanny (and rather enviable) ability to blend gut busting humor and smart, articulate thoughts into one post. I wish he'd post more, though.
Krem - I realized I left him out of my favorite posters list, so I now feel the need to include him here (is this a sympathy fuck, or what?!). Seriously, though, he doesn't post as much as he should anymore (he's got some sort of big time, hot shot job like a good Republican), but he has the same ability as Snrub - the blending of humor and seriousness into a post. He's also unbelievably intelligent, as he seems to have a huge grasp on any topic ever known to have been brought up at a message board.
Libs - One of the few "short post" types that I bother reading. Somehow manages to cram intelligence, grace, and wit into two or three sentences.
Seriously, how do you people do it?

1. Dr. Lecter -- Need I say more? Not only one of the smartest here, but generally fairly calm. Flame wars are quite humorous when he gets involved. The intelligence oozes, that much I can say. Plus, he is trying to move to America, so maybe some day I shall meet him.
2. Dolcevita -- I've talked to her over PM for the last several nights in a row and I enjoy it greatly. She's smart, fun and really nice. I wish her luck in all of her endevors and her pursuit of academic excellence.
3. LoyalfromLondon -- He's crazy that much I can tell. When he signed up for Ultimate Movie Mayhem, I never thought he would lead the pack (I thought that would go to Zingaling or someone else). He is quickly approaching 2000 points which is amazing. Plus, he calculates his own score. That alone is worthy of mention.
4. Torrino -- He's Jewish. He talks to me a lot on IM. And he tries to rap. I like that. The tries though must be noted, because he isn't the next Eminem, at least not yet. He's also just a nice guy.
5. BKB -- The ultimate troll. What can I say? Despite the fact that I often disagree with him, he sticks to his opinons and I admire that. Greatly.
---
6. Zingaling -- He's a nice guy from what I can tell and has always been someone I admire for his calmness. I don't think I've ever seen him get into a flame war, something most of us cannot say.
7. Eagle -- Worthy of mention because he made this great place. My new and only home on the internet.
8. Neostorm -- I knew him from over at The-Numbers.com, and have always thought of him as a nice guy. Of course he is Canadian so I had to dock a few points from his overall score in my book.
9. Ripper -- For giving me all of the advice on wisdom teeth extraction and for assuring me I won't die from the pain, I thank you. You seem fairly nice as well, though I haven't gotten to speak with you very much as of yet.
10. Mike Q. -- He signs every message with "Peace, Mike". Even though I've not had much of a chance to get to know him, I like him and hope he continues to post here often.
Honorable Mention -- Archangel -- The biggest "Phan" ever, and did a wonderful job upkeeping the Phantom of the Opera thread. Here's hoping we will see more of him.

Zing-Probably the coolest "youngin" on the board. Awesome taste in movies.
Rusty-Funniest person on the boards. Plus he hates commies and hippies.
Mr. X-Zaniest person on the board. Acts like everyone hates him when everyone loves him.
Eagle-Guy that got this whole place up and running. Didn't mind our mass exodus over here. Plus he's the person that acts most "normal" here. He never tries to impress anyone...he's just himself.
Dolc-Most intelligent and insightful person on the board. Her post, no matter how long they are, are always a pleasure to read.

Ok, getting ahead of myself, but I've got 5 more in me...
Libs I don't even know where to start with this one. She's my absolute favorite forum member. I made a joke the other day that my favorite member was so awesome, that I almost peed myself whenever I saw a fresh post because I'd get so excited. \:D/ A little exaggeration, but I think you get the idea. She's always fun, always provides numbers about box office and TV, and may be the smartest person I've ever known. Her intelligence intimidates me, and I'm not exactly used to that. Most importantly , she has a good affect on me, because (how corny can I be) she makes me want to be a better member.
She's the forum queen, and I typed this small so none of the other girls would see it, because I like them all, and don't want to hurt any feelings.
Rod To me, Rod will always look like Nicole Kidman from Moulin Rouge... That was his first avatar, if anybody wonders why. Rod has long been one of the most upstanding members of the community. Rod has always been very active in the community's real life forum, so he's gotten to know many of us, but unfortunately, I'm one of the few who hasn't talked to him much. He makes his way around to the Oscar and movie forums, and he holds the distinction, along with me and some others, of making it onto Algren's prestigious list of forum intellects, so maybe we'll get to know eachother better the next time the theory of evolution comes up at the forums. :shv:
torrino He is one of the best mods here, and has been very active in both the forums and the website. He and I don't know eachother very well yet, and we had a little spat early on (who haven't I had a spat with  ) but it wasn't a big deal, and it's behind the both of us , so I look forward to getting to know him better. He will be an invaluable source for all of the writers of the website, I can see that already. He also seems to have made lots of friends and knows his movies pretty well, so I'm wondering how he slipped under my radar for as long as he did. I'm getting old. :old:
MovieDude He's young enough to be my son, but he's much more like a brother. He has been a favorite of mine since early on, and I really missed him badly when we lost contact. I'm glad that he is here, and I am very excited that he is a part of the website, doing something that he is perfect for, writing mini reviews for all new trailers. Please check them out! MovieDude is years ahead of his time as a writer, and if he continues to hone his craft, he's going to be able to write his ticket once he's out of school. He is a great contributer to the forums, and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of movies. I learn bunches from him. :2up:
Dr. Lecter Artur is one of my best friends at the forums. He is the leading post count member here, and his contributions in those posts are incredible, to say the least. So much content! He has contributed to every forum in the most amazing ways, and always has great insights. He's not your typical "spamming to get a high post count" member, that's for sure. He does great analysis on box office and Oscars, and has a very engaging and personable way about him that makes it impossible not to like him. I consider myself very lucky to have gotten to know him! :web:

Wow this one is tough... I mean I absolutely love people like Libs, torrino, rusty, bABA and Ripper, etc. etc. etc. but I rarely connect with them.
I think the people here I think i'm "closest" to are the people who I have had more intense relationships with...
Maverickk: who despite my attempts to write him off from time to time plays the same sort of board warrior dance I do. It's him who I'm probably most like in many ways. I turn 29 in less than a month and Mav is in his mid-thirties (I think? Right?), we are not that close in age but there is definately a similarity in that innate 1980s culture which gives us a connection and experience that not everyone here has.
Dr. Lecter: I don't know how Dr. and I got on such weird sides of arguments... I think we overestimate how much we disagree on things, we actually agree on quite a lot.
Dolcevita: if I had time and energy I could *attempt* to keep up with dolce, who is probably this board's most movie-cultured member and is an invaluable asset to this whole site.
Dkmuto/Makeshift: I'm cheating here... Dkmuto and Makeshift and I don't really even like the same sort of movies, or the same genre, but whenever they have something to say I never have to question where it is coming from. It's just that weird shorthand that allows me to skip rudamentary arguments and have deeper connections to on certain issues.
Krem: Krem is probably the most intelligent person here. I often find myself disagreeing with him, but I am in no way articulate enough to get in a discussion with him. It's way too intimidating. I think he knows he does this to many people, which makes his participation almost cute

Maybe this agreement will allow us to "connect" (heh), but I feel *exactly* the same way. Dk and makeshift are probably the two people on here that I can *always* see their point, even if I don't even know what they're talking about.

Ok, I'll give this my first of what will be many attempts:
PublicEnemy#1 So he is such a great poster. He sets the bar for everyone, which is interesting considering his age, but he's got a good range. Sometimes he's serious, sometimes he slips in some humor, he watches a good range of movies, and everytime I have asked him to do anything he is happy to oblige. PE also is the number one poster I think feels like he "pipes up." This thread will be going, and all of a sudden, he'll "pipe up." Can't explain it, its sooooo cute. He's the number one guy on the forums I want to spoil rotten. I would have taken him to see Steamboy today, cause I kknow he's an anime nut-job, but he lives on the other side of the country...damn.
mary Who is this person? Seriously, this is the first question I had when she started posting. She was tough to figure out because her posts were very information full and I wasn't sure about her personal tastes and styles. Then she started opening up and cracking some jokes, and also I realized her posts of informative info speak alot about her tastes with out her having to come out and saay OMG..THIS MOVIE IS THE BEST EVER I"M SUCH A FANGRL OF THIS GENRE, or something like that. She's also very attentive to her posts and threads and always responds. Very giving.
BJ I'm still working towards the day he says something mean. I am. I try pretty consistently and have chipped off a whole 0.0000000000001 percent of the block. I'm figuring I'll get him to cave by 2015, but that's my enthusiastic prediction. Could take longer. I like his energy for particular movies, he's got me on the Sin City craze and he knows it. He also has actually taken book recommendations from me, purchased Maus, and is now even making his dad read it. Weird. Its like, he might catch me bsing before anyone else does since he actually takes other people's posts seriously.
MovieDude Dude, I was pretty damn sure you were 'bout 25 from your first few posts, and an intelligent 25, not like some of the idiots in my history of design class-type 25. 'Nuff said.
Anyone who visits foreign/indie forum You know who you are, goodness there's only about 10 of you. I love you all. You are the light and joy of my virtual life, and entertained my need to obsess over Moolaade and Bad Education. I will now find two movies from 2005 to obsess over, one of them is in the wood-works already, and I'm sure you guys will keep pampering me selflessly. Such givers...such wonderful, unique people. You 10 are the greatest.

MikeQ: Probably the nicest person I have ever met on one of these forums. There's a reason why he has won nicest poster award about 5 billion times. I wish he posted here more often. I wish I posted here more often, but I can never find anything to say anymore. Maybe if he posted here more often!!!!! What can I say? The rest of you guys are useless! USELESS!!!! I need some help over here!
Tony Montana: This is the only person on the forums that I get my arguments on with. Its fun to argue, especially when you know you're right. Thanks, Tony, it is a real self-confidence booster when I win every single argument I have with you. Sony is SO much better than X-box!
Snrub: Snrub reminds me of me, except with more jokes pertaining to the bodily functions of the average human male or female. (tsk tsk tsk) His avatar makes me want to inflict bodily harm, though. But only to myself, so dont worry everyone else.
Ripper: Im running low on words. I have almost spent my alloted amount of words for the day. But, you know what? Screw the authorities! Im going OVER! I dont care what they do to me! I have enjoyed talking to you many times. And as I sit here, eyes heavy and feeling like shit, I realize that I have missed those talks. Unfortunately I have nothing left to talk about. As evidenced by my incredibly low-amount of posting.
Timothy: I wish you posted here more often as well. It was quite fun talking with you over irc. You big perverted lug, you.
That is my list. Just because you were left off does mean that I hate your guts.

Here's another batch:
Loki - One of my very favorite posters on here, probably because I know him more than most of the members. He's always fun to talk to, even thouh he doesn't think much of my movie taste  He is one of the funniest guys around as well and when it doesn't come to movies he and I are actually similar in a way. I could imagine hanging out with him very well. Furthermore, he usually introducs me to the internet's "hidden treasures", hehe. He knows what I mean. Great guy, all-around.
Krem - Hands down the smartest guy on here. I don't think much more needs to be said here. The good ol' Soviet brains  *pats back* Solved pretty much every single lateral problem that I have presented and I enjoy arguments with him over politics and especially over economy, even though it's virtually impossible to win an argument against him.
Dkmuto - I just enjoy reading his comments, on movies and otherwise. He is one of the people here that I pay attention to the most when it comes to their opinions on movies, even though I don't necessarily agree. I also like the slight and subtle touch of sarcasm in his posts.
DP07 - With no other person, do I enjoy arguing over box-office as much as with him. He's a really cool guy all-around and always keeps the arguemtns civil and brings up good points, while still remaining very persistant. Often, he ends up being right, but thankfully, every once in a while, I can say that I was right (like in our early The Ring Two arguments :razz). Of course then I tend to forget the numerous occasions he proved me wrong on... Moreover, he is a great predictor, he runs a great thread together with xiayun and on top of that, he's a smart guy who has also been a frequent visitor of my Lateral Thinking Problems thread.
xiayun - One of the best posters here as well. He is ALWAYS nice, always calm, never gets offensive, never gets into big arguments or flame wars and I have yet to see him insulting any poster. That is quite an admirable achievement. Just like I said for David, he runs a great thread (Yahoo Reviews) and is a great predictor. It is always a joy to read his posts, whether on the awards or on movies or on box-office. They always offer great insight. Besides that, together with Mav and matatonio, he did a great job on the Movie Awards. Great poster, great guy!
