Rewatched this. I'd rate it slightly less now. It is wonderfully filmed (really beautiful B&W cinematography), but the story is lacking for me. It is not as engaging as it should be.

It is an absolute masterpiece. The most perfectly executed film noir alongside Laura and The Maltese Falcon and the best film of Carol Reed's illustrious career.
