 Scarface (1983)
Scarface Quote: Scarface is a 1983 American epic crime drama movie directed by Brian De Palma, written by Oliver Stone, produced by Martin Bregman and starring Al Pacino as Tony Montana. It is a modern day remake of Howard Hawks' original 1932 film of the same name, the film tells the story of Tony Montana, a Cuban refugee who comes to Miami in 1980 as a result of the Mariel Boatlift, and becomes a drug cartel kingpin during the cocaine boom of the 1980s. The movie chronicles his rise to the top of Miami's cocaine empire.
The film is dedicated to Howard Hawks and Ben Hecht, the director and principal screenwriter of the original 1932 film, respectively.
The initial critical response to Scarface was mixed, with the film receiving criticism for its violence and graphic language. The film was widely criticized by the Cuban community in Miami, who objected to various aspects of the film, and the fact Cubans in it were compared with criminals and drug traffickers.
The film has since gathered a cult following and has become an important cultural icon (particularly in the hip hop community), inspiring posters, clothing, and many other references. The film's grainy black and white poster is a popular decoration and is still in production; as a result of its popularity it has been parodied many times. Classic. A+

Classic. Perhaps besides Once Upon A time in America one of the best crime gangster movies ever. 10/10

My favourite movie of all time. Easily one of the most quotable films ever, it just fucking oozes COOL and Pacino gives the best performance of his career. That final scene at Montana's house is just so raw and visceral.....just classic.

A film that just can't be appreciated if you watch it on TV with all the swearing cut out of it.

Not quite as amazing as Godfather, Godfather pt.2, Goodfellas, City of God and Once Upon a Time in America, but still a pretty damn great ( slightly overated perhaps ) movie. I'd give it an A-/B+ not really a masterpiece or anything especially when compared to similar movies.

Horrible movie with no real story and acting (Pacino gives a performance of his career - his worst that is!). Pacino's accent is bad and he tries to act all "hard ass" like with his facial expressions. Isn't Al Pacino an Italian? Why not just use Italian's like I believe the original film did? Why Cubans? This is just a poorly made film with a poor story and poor acting. F-

I just love this movie because of Brian Depalma's camera work and stylism. Some of the montages and songs seem very outdated but it only added more to the scenes. Its funny after playing the GTA games and revisting the movie, it almost felt like you are inside the movie. Other than that Im a sucker for the rise and fall of a character in a movie

9.3/10
Im looking forward to the Scarface game, mang

Pretty overrated IMO. It's a good movie but a classic? Al Pacino annoyed the hell out of me. B

As far as Gangster films this is one of my all time favorites I rank it just below The Godfather and The Godfather part 2.

 Re: Scarface
Scarface kinda blows. The cult around it is odd, to say the least.
Howard Hawks' film of the same name is a real treat, though.

 Re: Scarface
Man alive was that long, i guess i should have checked the running time before starting this baby at 12:30am!
Pacino was great, the whole thing was pretty damn cool, but i didn't really care about the outcome by the time it came around. Still, pretty solid B+

Tony Montana is awesome amazingness. Only Pacino's performance in Dog Day tops his performance here.

 Re: Scarface
The movie is great and its pretty much feels like an epic gangster movie.
However the main flaw, you think Al Pacino is cool and a bad ass but when he dies your like "yeah he had to"...
However some find it annoying the way Pacino acted but few actors can pull off that now and not look like complete idiots. He pulled off well making you admire him and hate all at the same movie
The film is a pop culture icon of the 80's. The film just symbolizes its time really well and is still as a very popular and liked film to this date.
