ARMORED

Saw this at a screening where they couldn't GIVE enough passes away to fill the place up. Anywho, I thought it was a nice little heist type film. Matt Dillon and the lead black was good. Those robbers certainly weren't the brightest folks in sticking with someone who was borderline to begin with but after their plan started going downhill then things just got fubar.

Milo was decent in this. Convincing as a cop but someone has got to fix his mouth when he talks or whatever else because he has this elvis motion that he's had since FOREVER...fix it please.

The other cast was good too, Lawrence, Skeet, Jean Reno. Overall though this film is nothing special, not memorable but okay to watch if you can't find anything else I guess.

Lastly, I saw this with a mainly black audience and I don't know why it is that black audiences just always have people who comment excessively or laugh unnecessarily. Maybe it has to do with culture or something but...eh...

Grade - C

You didn't mention Amaury Nolasco, who was another one of the crew, the one that stabs you know who. I like him. Actually, this movie had three TV stars in its cast, with Skeet from Jericho, Nolasco from Prison Break, and obviously Fishburne from CSI. All three are good actors. Skeet needs to work more as he's an entertaining, good actor. The movie overall was an entertaining little thriller that nonetheless I can see why it didn't do well as it isn't big enough in scope or cast to draw people in for the type of movie it is. Should do well on DVD though.

It was crap and delved into mediocrity way too fast.

The van chase was so badly edited and plot holes tear through the 'script'.

I knew it wasn't going to be that great but it looked fun, I guess I've got to watch trailers twice before committing to watching something.

This was fairly entertaining and reminds me that I should finally watch Nimród Antal's debut film Kontrol. I wasn't a big fan of his Vacancy, but he has shown some nice promise their with a nive eye for cinematography and design. Predators was also great fun and Armored falls somewhere inbetween. It's a very generic story which is predictable form start to finish, but it doesn't matter since the entertainment is there. It is told at a swift pace and while it doesn't use the cast's full potential, Columbus Short makes for a surprisingly solid hero and Matt Dillon is a cool villain. I wish Jean Reno had been given more to do, though. Logical flaws and a few lulls aside, it is a nicely done action thriller.
