Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers
Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy CampersQuote: Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers is a 1988 sequel to the movie Sleepaway Camp, written by Fritz Gordon and directed by Michael A. Simpson. Unlike Sleepaway Camp, Sleepaway Camp 2 is more a comedic spoof of the previous film. It stars Pamela Springsteen, Renée Estevez, and Tony Higgins.

Re: Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers
FUN, FUN, FUN! What a great time! This series is so underrated. They just don't make them like this anymore. And when they try to have fun like slasher movies used to, they usually fail. It seems impossible to recreate the charm slasher movies used to have. Granted, I love some of the more serious horror films and wouldn't want them all to be like this, but I do miss them. When they try to have fun now, like with the recent Friday The 13th reboot, they fail. Must just be the charm of the 80's.
Anyway, Pamela Springsteen (yes, Bruce's sister) makes a cool Angela. She really seems to be having fun with the part and it's a pleasure to watch her. The hard rock theme was awesome too.
Next I have to watch the third, and if it's even close to as enjoyable as this one I think this will be one of my favorite horror series of all time. With just the first two alone I can't imagine it not being.
I'm going to have to give this one an 8/10 (A-).

Yeah. When this (and the sequel) are the highlight of your acting career, you know you ain't good. Sorry Pamela, but I'm sure your brother Bruce secured some other gigs for you. Unlike the first movie, this one doesn't have a twist to save it. It's a by-the-numbers slasher and doesn't have any decency to come up with some interesting kills. The move to try to be more comedic than the first one was a good idea, but it didn't work out.
