 Chicken Run
Chicken Run Quote: Chicken Run is a 2000 British stop-motion animation film made by the Aardman Animations studios, the production studio of the Oscar-winning Wallace and Gromit films. Set in Yorkshire, England in 1959, the film centres around a band of chickens, who seek a smooth-talking Rhode Island Red named Rocky as their only hope to escape from their certain death when the owners of their farm decide to move from selling eggs to selling chicken pies. Ugh. Worst. Kids. Movie. Ever.

Very clever and witty movie. I love it and think it gets better on repeat viewings. How many other 'kids' movies can you say the same thing about? I rate it an A.

More of a social commentary then a kids movie, as it is loosly based on Animal Farm, itself a commentary on Nazi Prison Camps. A fun movie, not quite as good as some of the earlier Disney films, but certainly stands apart from the crowd. 7.0/10 (B+)

This is a brilliant movie, Mel Gibson does a superb voice, but of course, its not his creation, Nick Park is the man for this baby!!

I agree with the general consensus. Amazing work that was put into it, funny spots and an interesting story.

I've seen it on video about 25 times and I never get tired of it - love the British sense of humor and the googly eyes. Easily on my top ten list of kid's classics!
5 out of 5.

I don't know how someone could actively *hate* this movie. It's certainly nowhere near that bad.
Anyway, I loved it. A

Animal Farm isn't a commentary on Nazis! Hell, I'm pretty sure it was written before WWII. It has to do with the rise of communism...

I don't know. From what I remember (and it was about 5 years ago), I hated it.
Maybe it's not the worst animated feature, but it's certainly down there.

It was boring, boring, boring! This is strickly just a children's movie, and I don't see how teenagers or adults could enjoy this. It provides a few laughs, and the animation is interesting, but its not very good at all.

Dear god, people.
No, seriously. This movie was delightful. I think the movie's dry British humor may have flown over the heads of both children, and teens/adults who weren't expecting it. In fact, I think people *over* 15 would like this more than those younger than that. But what do I know?

I loved this movie. The beginning montage of various escape plans is the best part. Mel Gibson is a great voice actor.

Animal Farm had nothing to do with Nazis, it was about the rise of Communism. If anything this film has a lot to do with the Great Escape, which was a true story. Mel Gibson's character is a lot like McQueen's.
The movie is good, the animation is the best of its kind, and the acting is fun. 2000 was a good year for Gibson with this, the Patriot, and What Women Want all over 100 million. This is an A- for me.

Haters suck.
There's a reason this movie helped the Academy finally decide to make the animated feature catagory.

one of the best kids films ever, and the second best stop motion movie I've ever seen, just behind The Nightmare Before Christmas

 Re: Chicken Run
social commentary my ass er, so i chuckled a few times, but for some reason british wit seems to completely fall flat in stop motion animation...wallace and gromit is the best but still average. this and flushed away are generic, boring, rarely funny and never hilarious. D+
