Re: Young @ Heart
I've been highly anticipating this film since I saw the first trailer for it last year and when the opportunity arose to see an early screenig I jumped at the chance. Needless to say I wasn't dissapointed after watching the movie. Young @ Heart is the feel good film of the year and one of those rare film gems you don't want to see come to an end. By the time the end credits began rolling my face hurt from laughing and smiling so much and I wanted to adopt the cast of octagenarians as my own grand parents. Filmed during a seven week span leading up to a performance we meet the Young @ Heart chorus and its musical director Bob Cilman. We experience the roller coaster ride of rehearsals and heartbreaks as mortality visits a few members of the chorus. The group perfroms songs from an extremely wide variety of artists ranging from Cold Play to Sonic Youth and everyone in between. Sweet, charming, moving and incredibly entertaining Young @ Heart is the must see film so far of 2008.
Grade A++++

Re: Young @ Heart
this movie has gotten nothing but raves. I rarely check out unpolitical documentaries, but this really is starting to appeal to me. It'll probably end up as a rent.

This is one of those rare film gems that must be experienced with an audience as there is something almost magical about it. This is a film where you can bring you parents as well as grandparents (if they're still alive) and have an enjoyable movie going experience. I can almost guarantee that your face will be sore after this film from laughing and smiling so much.
