Post Re: 10,000 B.C.
Move over Uwe Boll there is a new worst director ever in town and his name is Roland Emmerich. After watching Meet the Spartans earlier this year I'd thought I'd seen the worst film of the year and possibly of all time, that all changed less than five minutes into this abysmal pos. I don't think I'll be alone in saying that 10,000bc is the worst film of the year (so far) and one of the worst of all time. Even if you remove all the blatant historical inaccuracies from the film and review it just as an action piece it still fails miserably. The acting is beyond wooden with the actors looking bored and confused most of the time, the cgi was worse than that of a no-budget made for tv movie, and the plot was as believable and engaging as a huge steaming pile of mammoth dung. To simply say this film is awful would be doing an extreme disservice to awful films. If you're in the mood for poorly directed wanna be action adventure films put the titles of Uwe Boll in your netflix que and stay the hell away from this utter freaking disaster of a film.

It isn't. I'll keep my review really brief. It held my attention throughout and entertained me, through out the film. Special effects were hit or miss, especially at the beginning of the movie. But the final battle and climax of the movie looked pretty decent. Now this is by no means an Oscar winner for anything, but if you want to go pass a couple hours in the movies go for it. Anyone who knows anything about the journey of a hero will be able to recognize what will happen in the movie early and often, but it is what it is. Doesn't hurt that Camilla Belle is a babe either.

I just don't see how you can say the CGI sucks when the Mammoth's look as real as they come in the TV Spots and as far as this bullshit about the acting being wooden, what the hell do you expect in the form of acting from fucking cavemen or Neanderthals?? Holy Christ.. The sofa armchair CGI Experts around here amaze me.. :funny: I think you had it out for this movie before it even hit theatres..

Cinematography looks impressive, the CGI animals looked really cool, structures looked pretty good too but not as impressive as Apocalypto

When our alleged neanderthals are running next/through/around the poorly rendered mammoths you can seriously tell they are running in place next to a green screen as they are in no way synced up to the moving image. That whole hunting scene is so poorly done its beyond laughable. The Sabertooth in the pit looked totally out of place as it looked as if it was rendered in a different color scheme. And don't get me started on the whole mummy returns set piece they used for the four legged demons that came flying over the great mountain. Every scene where cgi creatures and people were involved looked terrible.

You can't have it both ways as far as acting, if they were supposed to play wooden semi-realistic cavemen then we have to take away the braveheart speeches and any and all rational thought they exhibited in the film. By your rationale they should've all just stood around grunting, moaning and pointing, ie. being wooden. The hack director gave each character a different dialect of english (wtf?) and the agall tribe was a rainbow of color, again wtf? And how do explain how the god of the persian/arab/baltic people who played the antagonists was white?

Truthfully I wasn't expecting much from this going in, but damn this didn't even live up to Meet the Spartans in terms of quality.

Try reading my post. I ENJOYED THE MOVIE. Reading comprehension 101. Wasn't great, but it was a decent way to kill time.

To the special effects. Did you even bother to watch the movie or are you just talking out of your ass like you usually are? The effects are hit and miss in the beginning. I don't agree with Mr. Pink on the overall movie, but I do agree with him on the special effects. Some parts were decent, but others looked awful. They get better as the movie goes on. Again the movie is a decent way to spend time but it won't any awards.

Post Re: 10,000 B.C.
This is one of the worst films I've seen in a long, long time. From the second the dull narration began, I knew I was in for a terrible experience. Simply put, the first twenty minutes or so of this disaster are unbearably awful - and I literally considered walking out after that point. But I stayed, and continued to watch as the ridiculous and uninteresting plot continued to unfold. The cinematography in this film is decent, but that's about the only praise I can bestow upon it. The dialogue is atrocious and cheesy, the plot makes no logical sense, the film is full of historical inaccuracies, and above all, it's just an incredibly boring film. In addition, the performances are among the worst I've ever seen in a major motion picture. Steven Strait and Camilla Belle should never work again if their performances here are any indication, and the rest of the cast is terrible as well. I highly recommend skipping this one. It's a mind-bogglingly awful film. D-

pot meet kettle.

Why would you insinuate that I have not seen the movie? Exactly where in any of my responses did I say I have not seen the film? I, unlike many others who post here, actually WATCH all the films I post a critique on. So pull your head out your ass and make sure you know what you are talking about before you accuse someone of something. And yes, I did read your post, just because you were entertained does not make it a decent way to kill time for others. Maybe it was for you, because I'm guessing your slightly retarded or otherwise mentally impaired, but for the overwhelming vast majority of people there are much better ways to kill a couple of hours.

Bingo. Was not referring to you Mr. Pink. I know you've seen it. And yes thank you for using my taste in films as a way to critique my mental capacities. But then again I was not the one who didn't have enough reading comprehension skills to know who someone else was referring to. I didn't even quote you in my post. Borrrrring.

The CGI is impressive, but nothing extraordinary, and a couple of scenes looked kinda bad. Half the time, I didn't even know what was going on in the film. There's about two scenes that I would consider "entertaining," and considering that's all I looked for in this film, I'm pretty disappointed.

And, generally, it's never good if you unintentionally laugh in a pretty serious flick.

This movie must be striking a chord with the casual moviegoer VS KJ film elite if it's holding up as well as what it has been since it's release??? This tells me that the movie is ot near as bad as it's being made out to be if it's still holding up this well at the box office??
