 The Great Escape
The Great Escape Quote: The Great Escape is a 1963 American film about an escape by Allied prisoners of war from a German POW camp during World War II. It stars Steve McQueen, James Garner and Richard Attenborough.
The film is based on the book of the same name by Paul Brickhill, a non-fiction account of the mass escape from Stalag Luft III in Żagań, which was then part of Germany. The characters are composites of real men. The film was made by the Mirisch Company, released by United Artists, and produced and directed by John Sturges.

 Re: The Great Escape
One of my all time personal favorites, and I can't believe that it's based on truth. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

A Christmas day ritual of a film. Never gets boring.

 Re: The Great Escape
The best war film ever made, that doesnt show a single battle. This is an awesome movie from start to finish during its long runtime that feels short. Everything about this movie is true, except McQueen's character which is a complete fabrication, but who cares, he rocked.
Its great, funny at times, patriotic, and sad. Its a great time at the movies
A+

The Great Escape
Really good movie. They don't make them like this anymore. It has a great humour to it. I love the movie, but I feel a more brutal Nazi representation would have been better. They seemed a bit too nice. Other than that; quality movie.
B+
