 The Fifth Element
The Fifth Element.jpg) Quote: The Fifth Element is a 1997 science fiction film directed by Luc Besson starring Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, Milla Jovovich, Ian Holm, and Chris Tucker. Mostly set during the twenty-third century, the film's central plot involves the survival of humanity which becomes the duty of a taxicab driver (and former special forces major) named Korben Dallas (Willis) when a young woman (Jovovich) falls into his taxicab. Upon learning of her significance, Korben must join efforts with the girl and a priest (Holm) to recover four mystical stones which are the key to defending Earth from an impending attack of pure evil and destruction An interesting, fun sci/fi flick. Fifth Element contains one of the best scenes of the 1990s.
That is the scene with the techno opera diva and the fight scene.

What a Mess! It is nice eye candy, but nothing else. The story is boring, all the actors - especially Oldman - are uninvolved and the action is far from exciting. (D)

I thought it was a great action movie, editing and art direction were great and the ending was a little cliche/tacky but I felt it was satisfying at the end, better than 90% of the action movies released....S.W.A.T I am looking at your direction.

Count me as an A-; It was a really very immersive scifi movie that brought a kind of vision of the future that had never been explored before. It was totally abstract, wonderful and Mila Jovovich was extraordinarily good.

A very well-done sci-fi flick. The visuals were great and Bruce Willis was as good as always in an action role. I also dug Gary Oldman's villain. He was doing what he always does best. I was quite disappointed by the ending to be honest, but all in all it was an entertaining and visually enthralling flick. Didn't like it much the first time I saw it, but it improved on further viewings. Chris Tucker's character was still highly annoying, though.

A fun silly Sci-Fi film with great visuals, the plot might be stupid and some characters might be annoying(Tucker and Oldman)But its still fun and Willis is great in it.

Great visuals and an interesting sense of humour. The story's decent, but this film is all about appearances. Willis is great as the action hero, but Oldman is way over the top and Tucker has never been more annoying. Weirdly fun.

I actually thought Tucker was at his best. His character was just so rediculous I couldnt help but laugh.
Had good effects, if someone unrealistic, but very well executed. Willis was great and Millovich was an interesting lead. Of course it fell into the typical Besson plot. Girl, any age, needs help, so someone stronger helps him. After the Professional, La Fem Nakita, it still worked here, Transporter still worked somewhat too.

I disliked the film a lot the first time I saw it. It gets better on repeat viewings.

I was enjoying it until Chris Tucker showed up, then it got obnoxious. I enjoy the film up to that point.

I loved the opera scene, but the film seemed off for some reason. I think it was the fact that there were too many goofy characters (like the bad guy, and the priest, his assistant, bruce willis' mom). Chris Tucker was really good though

Good movie brought down a little by how damned annoying Chris Tucker was.
