Field of Dreams was nominated for three Academy Awards including Best Original Score, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Picture.

This is definately a tear-jerker for guys. I avoided it for years because I'm not that big of a baseball fan. I also thought it all sounded a little silly and it is, but if you can get past that, it'll hook you in.
Also, I know Kevin Costner gets a bad rap for being a terrible actor, but he's been effective in some great movies....this, JFk, and Dances With Wolves. He pulls off the everyman things in this really effectively.
My grade: A.

My dad made me watch it a few times as a kid, it's been a few years, but to this day I really don't like this movie. I'm sure it doesn't help that baseball is probably my very least favorite major sport to watch.
