Post The 2007 WofKJ Motion Picture Awards
Hello and welcome to the 2007 World of KJ Motion Picture awards in which we will honor the best in film for the year 2006.

These awards are different from other award shows in that the nominees and winners are selected by our very own KJ forum users. This leads to what is quite possibly the most diverse group of voters, and therefore nominees. They range from snobby, self righteous (proud of it!!) um...snobs to giddy action fanboys that have involuntary orgasms at the thought of the latest comic book adaptation, to those who's idea of great filmmaking is See No Evil. They range from users with such diverse taste in film like dolcevita and getluv. Oh well...wait, no...never mind. Either way this is in contrast to, say, the Oscars, in which the winners are selected by self righteous snobs and the Jews. And, really, thats just two different adjectives describing the same group of people

Anyway, I'm back as your host this year. I just can't help myself...I am that big of a masochist. I wasn't sure I wanted to do this at first but then a bit over a month ago I had this life altering experience here at KJ that made it easy to decide to go ahead with it. Some of you might have heard about it already...it was one of the biggest dissapointments in my life and it lasted for about 2 whole days. By hosting I hope to have the chance to say a few things that were left unsaid, and have it be heard by the widest possible audience. It might not quite be fair for me to take advantage of my position this way, but then again that has never really been my biggest concern in the world. With this i hope that the kind of injustice that was endured by one individual does repeat itself with others, not in a place like KJ...

Now let's spite Mav by making this thread LONG!

No heavy refreshing, that crashed the board on nomination night.

Didn't Eagle say that this new board wouldn't be as susceptible to crashing, though?

I hope BallotPM makes an appearance.

Yeah, seriously, let's do that, even though we didn't advertise.

Mav is the biggest loser on the web. Zingaling was right when he said "if this was the real world, I'd kick you off your wheelchair in a minute"

Laura Dern might have just missed out on a nomination this year, but it is not too early to start my campaign for next year. I plan to ensure that next year will be different. I will ensure that not seeing a movie is not hindrance to a nomination at next year's KJ Awards. I have of course, not seen any of the following movies or performances but I can almost assure you I will be campaigning almost as hard for them once I do see them. With only a 5% chance of me quietly letting my campaign die and hoping it is all forgotten and left in the past.

For Your Consideration in the 2008 World of Kj Motion Picture Awards

Zhang Yu for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Ghosts

Sarah Polley for Best Director, for Away From Her

So now that I've got that out of my system, on with the show....

So Rod is going on a soapbox?

Anyways, let the movies/vague ethnic jokes flow at once.

You obviously don't remember the nomination ceremony.

And, it's nice to feel some love for the great BPM.

I do, but isn't this a new board? One that's come in since the nomination ceremony?

You're just saying that because he KNEW this place was going down the toilet, but we BANNED him for speaking the truth, and now this place IS in the toilet! Stop being delusional! And I suck BIG TIME for not predicting The Departed back in October!

So we kinda don't have presenters. Anyone who wants to present an award, PM me for details. No reference needed for the job.

I don't know where Rod got the whole Enrique Iglesias bit from (I HATE Enrique, especially Bailamos), but. Let's get on with our first award, Best Supporting Actress. And the nominees are...

Cate Blanchett, Notes on a Scandal

Emily Blunt, The Devil Wears Prada

Abigail Breslin, Little Miss Sunshine

Jennifer Hudson, Dreamgirls

Rinko Kikuchi, Babel

Rinko was by far the best part of Babel, so I hope she wins.
