 Natural Born Killers
Natural Born Killers Quote: Natural Born Killers is a 1994 crime film directed by Oliver Stone about a pair of mass murderers and the media coverage given to them. It stars Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis, along with Rodney Dangerfield, Robert Downey, Jr., Tom Sizemore, and Tommy Lee Jones.
The film is based on a screenplay by Quentin Tarantino that was heavily revised by Stone with writer Dave Veloz and associate producer Richard Rutowski. Notorious for its violent content, the film was named the 8th most controversial movie of all time by Entertainment Weekly.
Natural Born Killers was promoted with the tagline: "A bold new film that takes a look at a country seduced by fame, obsessed by crime and consumed by the media." It was released theatrically in the United States on August 26, 1994.

I find this movie extremely overrated. I actually thought it was rather over-the-top and somewhat reprehensible. Other movies have done better jobs showing the glorification of violence in American culture. C-

Extremely fun. One of Oliver Stone's best films to date.
9/10 (A-)

Ah what a waste of a Tarantino script, Oliver Stone really screwed this up. Some people have said that this movie captures almost what its like if you were on LSD. Well that shows I'll never take that drug. This movie may have been about the glorification of violence, but it definitely isn't that shown here.
It has a good cast and most do pretty good with the roles, but the Cinematography, though unique is just stupid.

Can't say it's one of my faves, but I did like it a lot.
I find that this movie works best not as a satire of the overglorification of violence, but rather as a simple love story about finding your own happiness in life. That sounds nuts considering it's a movie about serial killers, but Mickey and Mallory are two people dejected and abused in life, and yet with each other they became... happy. They found in each other a place to belong, someone they could spend their time with. The scene on the bridge is a very good scene showing this.
I also loved how M&M were not likeable people at all. Too often the serial killers in films are typical geniuses above the rest of the world, or people who are almost-half good, but Mickey and Mallory? Total scumbags. Kill and maim, no compassion, uneducated, and just pure psychos, which is what most serial killers probably are. The scene where they kill Downey, Jr. at the end for the hell of it, is stunning.
A good Oliver Stone picture.

I have to give it major props, if only for having such a unique visual style. I can completely understand how one would find it reprehensible, but from a purely technical standpoint it's way ahead of it's time.

 Re: Natural Born Killers
Visually stunning, if not that subtle. Oliver Stone has never been one for subtle artistic statements, but at least his OTT style and tone works well with the material presented here. It's not perfect, but it's his best work, and by far his most interesting film.
