Post Jackass: Number Two predictions
I saw the teaser poster for Jackass: Number Two at the theater today and it got me thinking of how it will do at the box office. I still think the audience is there for this franchise. The Jackass Boxset that was released in December sold very briskly, telling me that there is still a demand for all things Jackass.

at this point i will say $19/$51. A bit less than the first but still a solid hit. my prediction may change higher or lower after seeing a trailer.

you think it will only make barely over half the original? i'm almost positive there's still plenty of fans of this franchise to push it over $50 million

How are all the spin-off shows doing at MTV?

viva la bam was very successful, and wildboyz is pretty popular. i'm not saying number two will equal part one's earnings, but it should still hover around $50 million.

Total gross - $40 million

Jackass is not nearly as popular as it was four years ago, but Viva La Bam and the others are still popular enough that I could see this with over 40.

Viva La Bam and Wildboyz have BOTH been MTV's most watched shows.

Steve-O is a star now, Bam Margera is a BIG star - His fanbase is huge. Neither were stars when Jackass was on the air. And Knoxville is just as big as he was back then.

This can reach 50 million pretty easily. Has a good chance of outgrossing the first film - The fanbase for Jackass has grown over the years, not decreased. Saying that Jackass is not as popular as it used to be is not true - The show simply hasn't aired in 4 years. But thanks to re-runs and DVD it's now more popular than ever, and the sequel has the benefit of having three stars instead of just one. You have to remember that Jackass operates on male teenagers, so the Jackass / Viva La Bam / Wildboyz trinity has gained a lot of new young fans over the last 4 years - And the old fans are still intact, and in their early 20's.

It will be extremely frontloaded, regardless of WOM. People either belong to the fanbase and have a definitive need to see the film, or alternatively have zero interest and won't see it no matter what. So it will have around a 2.0 - 2.5 multiplier, but I see it opening around 25-27 million.

A 90-second teaser trailer. Kicks some serious ass, and has been greatly received around the net.

I'm even more confident that this will definitely do 50+ million, and might top the first one. They really know how to market this thing.

The trailer gets big laughs everytime it plays.

So, I think this could do at least 40 million total, maybe even 50.

i thought i'd bump this up since it'll be coming out in a week. any new/changed predictions from anyone now that we have the trailer/clips/numerous tv spots? i think number two looks to be as funny or more so thatn part 1 and will clear $50+ million, and could go as high as the origina's gross if it's received as well by the public.

I've heard a LOT of hype for this at my school, I think that this will opening higher then the first, which most people didn't think would make total what it did in it's opening weekend. 26/62

The Jackass / Johnny Knoxville / Viva La Bam / Bam Margera / Wildboyz / Steve-O fanbase is very big. And the marketing has been very smart and effective. And there is a lot of very positive hype around internet. It will drop like a rock, because once it plays out it's initial fanbase, it has nowhere to expand to. But it should open pretty big.

It's released at a great time. Jackass may be long gone, but between DVD releases of Jackass, The Movie, Viva La Bam, and Wildboyz, the name has been living well for the past four years. I think it'll do well, and I hope to see a second sequel eventually. No "Viva La Bam" or "Wildboyz" movies, though. Just the entire cast of jackasses.
