Office Space

Quote:
Office Space is a 1999 American comedy film written and directed by Mike Judge. It satirizes work life in a typical 1990s software company, focusing on a handful of individuals who are fed up with their jobs. The film's sympathetic portrayal of ordinary IT workers garnered it a cult following among those in that profession, but the film also addresses themes familiar to office workers and white collar employees in general. It was filmed in Las Colinas, Texas and Austin, Texas.

Office Space is based on the Milton series of cartoons created by Mike Judge. Office Space was Mike Judge's foray into live action film and his second full length motion picture release (the first being the animated Beavis and Butt-head Do America). The promotional campaign for Office Space often associated it with Beavis and Butt-head.

While not a box office success, the film has gone on to develop a cult following, selling well on DVD and VHS.

Hilarious movie.

Dirty Work is better, but this is funny all the same.

Absolutely hilarious. Has both slapstick and witty humour, which makes it an unusually fresh comedy. Some instantly quotable lines, memorable characters, and comic moments. Milton makes this movie.

It was funny, but not as good as I was hoping. Not exactly sure how this achieved cult status. B

Then we know what the reason is for giving it a lowly B.

This is my all time favorite movie, so yeah, A+. It's held up so well after a fairly ridiculous amount of viewings.

Truthfully the first itme i saw the film I thought it was a B, but i watched it again and everything clicked. Initally I thought the whoel stealing omney plot and the end was not as good, but the pure genious of The Bob's, Lumberg, the TPS reports, and crack addict selling Ebony magazines, it juts works for me. An let's not forget the Flare.

"The Flare". Haha, I loved that scene.

Then again I generally like Jennifer Anniston period and I thought she did great in this film. I guess it just felt a little...pointless almost. But funny. It was definately funny.

I'll watch it again sometime soon, I've got a lot of other catching up to do before that though. Heh.

Office Space

Watched it years ago and liked it, but just watched it again and it really is a great film. So watchable. And great re-watch value. Also because I had given it long enough that it felt fresh again. Love it when that happens. I think I can relate more to it now since doing an office job, but I already took a lot from it before too. A mundane job is a mundane job whether you sit in a cubicle or stack shelves. Managers are still pricks and all companies promote the most moronic (but obedient) people to managers. Watching Office Space should be a decennial tradition.

I would put this in the same bracket as one of the most special comedies of the last 25 years along with Coffee Town, Clear History, and The Cable Guy.

Damn, I love this movie. I pulled a sickie today so thought I'd watch this. Might watch this every time I take a day off! I only noticed on this viewing that the compound where Peter lives is called Morningwood Apartments. :funny:

I'm due a re-watch. Absolutely love Office Space, one of my all time faves.

And now i'll have to check out Coffee Town and Clear History seeing that you've included them in the same league as OS and TCG.
