Post Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four 2
"Variety reports that Marvel's Silver Surfer is on course to become a linchpin in Fantastic Four 2, which 20th Century Fox is readying for a July 4, 2007 release.

[...]A Surfer feature has been in Fox's arsenal for a decade, but the studio waited because the project is so ambitiously f/x-heavy and Fox has been busy with other Marvel franchises.

The wait ends with "FF2." The storyline is being finalized, with the studio about to choose between a script by X2: X-Men United scribe Mark Frost and another by Don Payne, who scripted Fox/New Regency's My Super-Ex Girlfriend."

Here's hoping the sequel will be better than the original. I can't wait to see how they'll portray Silver Surfer on the big screen. If done right, it'll be quite a visual treat.

I was figuring it would only be so long before Marvel started combining it's characters. I know they always talk about how they have 10,000 potential characters, but it's not like they'd really keep making standalone films for all of them. His prescence in Fantastic Four 2 will help get audiences who were mixed on the first one but into the theater, and being a side character rather then the lead will be a lot kinder to the budget.

You know. I was talking to Loyal about this. Well, not just once but countless times. Which reminds me Loyal. WHere is that damn DC article?

Loyal and I both agreed that DC had some of the best heroes around. But they're obscure and it would be suicide for them to ever release a film about them. The best way of introducing new DC characters would be through cross overs. DC has only 3 things that can work. Superman, Batman and a Justice League film. Use those mediums to introduce these characters, team them together before launching some spin off flicks.

This is the exact approach Marvel is taking with Silver Surfer and it is a very good one.

The second wasn't even very good. I'll still see a sequel though, I'm sure it will be fun.

They have to find a better title for this movie.

There's no way it can be released seriously with FANTASTIC FOUR 2

They should have a HULK crossover into a FANTASTIC FOUR movie since some of the best battles were with The HULK..

Fantastic Four moved back to early June because of Transformers. Look for F4 2 to perform somewhat like Tomb Raider 2 or below the first F4

...the thread was made two weeks ago. Roid is just bumping it up to post news that has been established since yesterday, thus showing that he's slow as hell.

The date about F4 being moved was announced yesterday but there was no mention of it and I didnt feel like making another F4 thread so I posted it here but it was still funny because we got another classic BKB moment here. I should bump threads like these to see if he responds

It was discussed in the box-office section...

But, yeah, BKB moments are a plus.
