I've been awake for 34 straight hours....
What's your record?
Also, Pepsi is a rotten source of caffeine. Doesn't do jack.

I can go without sleep for a night and be fine the next day, every once in a while. I think my record is 56 hours, with one hour sleep in the middle, but I guess that doesn't count.

Funny, just a day ago, I was awake for 36 hours straight.
My record is somwhere above 40 hours. Around 41-42.

Somewhere in the 40's. By then I didn't need caffeine, I was actually edgy and had heart palpitations without any assistance. But yes, if one is going to stay up, I assure you the only way to go is Tirkish coffee; especially if you drink of lick up the mud.
Coincidentally, I'm dreaming of getting back into my bed right now, but alas, twas no meant to be.

When I stay up for such a long time, it usually has a reason (like an exam). In that case, adrenaline keeps me awake, no need for coffee.

I once managed 5 or 6 hours straight. But if I don't have at least four hour long naps during any 24 hour period, I can barely function.

Hm. I use to often wake up at ten ish and stay up til i crashed sometime mid-middle of night/morning the day following the following day so..
Ten - tenpm = twelve,
ten - tenam = twenty four
ten - tenpm = thirty six
ten - 3 am or so = 41.
So I'd say probably right around forty-one hours is my "record", though I can't really be sure and this was in my early/mid teens. for the past 4 years I've only gone more than 24 few times and usually only did so cuz i'm a horrible procrastinator (as apposed to fun earlier. didn't have time to sleep. : ()

No you're just honest. If I go more than about 20 my heart starts feeling strange and unhealthy. Most people who claim they go more than a day take little catnaps that they forget or don't realize they took. Sleeping isn't an option or a bad habit, it's required or you die.

That's kinda ridiculous. Most people who say they often go more than 60 might be liars, sure. But 2 days in a row is NOT gonna kill ya...and really isn't even bad for you.

Like 35 hours or so. Mountain Dew helped.
But, if you really want to stay up, drink some Coke Blak. I had it on Saturday night at around 10pm and couldn't sleep until around 5am. It also kept me awake for a full day of school on Monday, something that hasn't happened before.

Wrong. We did "sleeping" in courses recently and a person can survive up to 4-7 days without sleep. Now, I am not saying it is healthy and good to do that, just that you don't die if you didn't sleep for 40 hours. The world record of sleeplessness is 12 days and that not my an insomniac person, just by a woman who experiemented on herself by not sleeping. Usually after about 48 hours of sleep, the first severly negative effects appear, like dizziness etc. After 72 hours you usually start hallucinating.
I am very, very sure I didn't take any naps this time because I spent most of the time studying and studying and studying and when I thought I'd try to sleep, my adrenaline kept me up, I couldn't even fall asleep.
During my 40+ sleepless hours I was travelling, very long distance and I simply did not have a chance to sleep (because I can't sleep on a plane usually).

during the 3 times i was awake for 40 hours plus during the 3 days, i know i only dozed off once for 2 minutes. Otherwise, i pretty much know i was awake. i had no choice. if i had fallen asleep, i'd be on the floor.
