Spoilerless MI:3 Review
The movie starts off with a countdown by Owen Davian (Hoffman) to shoot Julia (Monaghan) with Ethan, also captured, watching and pleading for her life.
Rewind: Ethan Hunt is in semi retirement and is an instructor for IMF. He is in the process of getting engaged to Julia (MM) when he receives a call to rescue one of his students, Lindsey (Keri Russell) from the clutches of the dangerous black marketer, Davian. Ethan Hunt, Luther, Declan (Rhys-Meyers) and the beautiful Zen (Maggie Q) go on the mission to rescue Lindsey in Berlin.
[spoil]The mission is successful to a point but ends up being a failure. After a verbal sit-down, Ethan and the team get the news that Davian will be at the Vatican. They devise a plan to kidnap him and to get information about an unknown item termed as “Anti-god†by one of the IMF desk operatives. This item is being put on the market for $850M.[/spoil]
The rest of the movie races towards the end through many twists and turns. Cruise is impressive. Hoffman is good not great. The action scenes are top notch. The action scenes on the bridge (I assume to the Florida Keys) are spectacular.
The movie is fast paced, has great action and is thoroughly enjoyable. I rate this just below the first one and above the second one.
A

Re: Spoilerless MI:3 Review
I'll bet this movie has Fantastic Legs this summer and pulls in enough $$$ for Tom Cruise to jump up and down on OPRAH'S Couch on his next appearance.. I'm seeing it sometime this weekend, just not sure which day though..

That's good cause I only see movie's at the theatre that don't suck and this looks to be one of them.. The rest get the "Wait and see it on DVD" Treatment..

The third paragraph of the original post is the most spoilerish thing I've read about MI3.

Actually, I stopped reading after the first line, heh. The movie is too important for me to have it spoiled just hours before I see it myself

I do the same thing. I don't read the movie content part of the review till I watch the movie. Have fun watching the movie later.

Great, great fun with one or two very minor complaints. Liked it just a bit less than the second one (which, contrary to most, I love).
A
Zing will get the kick out of the film. The action scenes are top-notch.

[spoil]
I didn't like the demise of the main villain, it was a bit cheap.
I didn't like that Philip Seymour Hoffman is seen for a total of only about 15 minutes in the film, probably even less.
I didn't like some of the mushy stuff.
[/spoil]
The rest was fine.

If Lecter gives it an A (and I'm one of the only ones, besides him, that gave M:I-2 an A), I think it's safe to say that it'll be friggin' awesome. I can't waaaait 'till tomorrow.

And even after the minor complaints you revealed to me, you still gave it an "A" Huh?? Based on what you said, it should've been a "B" but that's Ok.. I'm still seeing it since so far, it appears to be the only movie redeemable of the summer from the list thus far..

2nd one was way inferior to this. Oh, well, 100 people 100 opinions...
Anyway, as said somewhere else, i got exactly what i expected (after reading the good reviews) from MI3, nothing less, nothing more. It's easily the best MI and 2 hours of an enjoyable action romp.
Top notch action (although the camera was a little bit too shaky in some parts) and great actors all around, a little bit of drama and romance (loved the "trust me" scene, can't help myself, i'm a romantic at heart ). It starts with a bang (one of my favorite scenes) and never really lets go. Only minor quibbles (some stuff at the end).

I also loved MI:2 -- it was the only good Mission Impossible move so far - the only one in the true spirit and formula of the original series.
MI:1 flat out sucked, MI:3 at least had a decent first hour, but overall, also sucked...

MI3 was lightyears ahead of MI2....
Great fun....
If that bridge scene was filmed in the keys as I think it was, how did he quickly drive off to the hospital in Virginia, eh?

I thought they were the Key bridges also. Somebody mentioned actually that one is the Chesapeake Bridge in Virginia. So it is fine.
