Post Favorite sport to play
A girlfriend and I are making plans to organize a lacrosse game over the weekend with a whole group of friends and acquaintances. I'm excited because I love lax but haven't really played much since high school (although field hockey is a nice substitute).

I was just wondering what everyone really enjoyed playing.

Ditto. Only I mean the "real football", not the American one.

Actually, it's only my 2nd favorite, though. Favorite is basketball.

Whatever you do look that you have a medic kit and a doctor ready. I mean I know those reunions..."Hey lets play sport like when we were little kids" 15 minutes later you have more broken bones and pulled muscles than a rich girl in L.A that wants to be as big as supermodel XXX and makes a surgery for that.......

btw:Football:Cheap easy and everyone know the rules. AND you can foul some handsome guy by "accident" and lay on him and say "uhhhhh sorry I didnt mean so".

This is gonna be swell.

What exactly makes Association Football more "real" than American Football, Rugby Union Football or Australian Rules Football?

;)

As for me, I like playing real "soccer" the best, followed by basketball and volleyball.

And I suppose in American football they amputate players' feet?

If you're referring to the fact that in soccer players kick the ball routinely, then wouldn't a much more apt name be "kickball"? ;)

Well, in that case, they could call basketball football as well.

Just as much as golf.

I like baseball. I'm too small for football, really, although I do enjoy "real football" (soccer). I used to like golf even though I wasn't very good at it, but I haven't played in years.

Football is the only sport with that confusion, and it's due to the fact that those damn Brits couldn't agree on the rules until the 19th century. In fact, they were the ones that invented the word "soccer" (short for Association) to distinguish it from "rugger" (short for Rugby).

Football, the feet one obviously. I'm too skinny and weak to play and enjoy American Football.

Baseball 2nd, though I don't play it nearly as much sadly.
