That art does bring up a point that bothered me while reading the three MEG novels...

Why would something that large ever bother eating humans? The megs in the novel eat whales and such and it always bothered me a bit whenever they ate humans. Doesn't make sense UNLESS the humans were on boats that were attacked and minced in the process. But surfers and swimmers, sort of silly.

But you see, plankton are part of their diet. Humans aren't part of Megaldons.

Regardless, I understand the narrative's need to pit humans vs the megaldons.

Hmmm, that is "not true" basically because humans were not living when Megalodons were, so we wouldn't know whether they are part of their diet.

So would Meg be getting an R rating. I never read the novel so I dont know if the description is gory at all. The shark genre is so unpredictable when it comes to rating since Jaws was rated PG while Deep Blue Sea is rated R

Then again, if Jaws came out today, I think it'd have got an R-rating.

Somehow I dont doubt that at all. Whats funny is that movies that received R rating in the past is so tame now that they probably would of gotten away with PG-13. Jaws I think would be the only one that received a PG would of gotten a R rating today

Now explain to me why JAWS would garner an R-Rating??? I mean really, the movie didn't have but 3 deaths and aside from Quint's demise, it was more implied and left up to the imagination with very little shown that would be more PG-13 than an R-Rating.. Plus, I don't recall there being any Profanity in JAWS to get an R-Rating either..

Nope, its under the action advenure genre so therefore the MPAA would exempt it from getting a R rating. It might be pushing it with the heart scene but I think it would fall along the line of LOTR in bordering over that edge
