People are busy! I just finished with school yesterday. Believe me, the last thing one wants to do during exam time is to be in a theatre. This weekend and thereafter, however

Im not a kong hater,i didnt think the film was as great as some people did but i still liked it.And im sure it will do BIG in the weekend,but i think my 75.5mill prediction for the 3 day weekend is to high,im thinking more now like 55-65mill.

I don't think anything went wrong. $10M is superb for a 3-hour film during the week.
Not only did a lot of people probably not even know it was opening on Wednesday, do you think a great number of people are gonna want to see such a long movie on a Wednesday night? I know I wouldn't.
LOTR had a more established fanbase anyway.

People got confused by the American accents, since the public is trained to believe that fantasy epics are supposed to have mostly English accents especially for the heroes. They kept waiting for Kong to say "Right ho chap, how about a spot of tea?" to make them feel at home in the genre.
Seriously though, what Libs said ^^.
