The Sword in the Stone
The Sword in the StoneQuote: The Sword in the Stone is a 1963 American animated fantasy comedy film produced by Walt Disney and originally released to theaters on December 25, 1963. The eighteenth animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics, it was the last Disney animated feature released while Walt Disney was alive.
It is part of the "English Cycle" of Disney animated films, which include Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, The Jungle Book, Robin Hood, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Great Mouse Detective, Pocahontas and Tarzan.
The film is based on the novel of the same name, at first published in 1938 as a single novel. It was then later republished in 1958 as the first book of T. H. White’s tetralogy The Once and Future King.

Very funny, and enjoyable. Merlin is one of the funniest disney characters!
trivia: merlin was modeled after Walt!

Little neat Disney flick! Lots of fun. One of my favorites when I was younger.

Re: The Sword in the Stone
Definitely among the weaker early Disney films. The animation started to take a turn in quality, and the plot and characters are very scattershot and underdeveloped. The villain isn’t even introduced till there’s 20 minutes left and is out of the movie in 10 minutes. Lots of cute moments that add up to a sometimes decent but mostly disappointing distraction.

Ultra meh. There is no story, the animation is rough and the only likable character is a squirrel. The music is good, but that’s pretty much it.
