No Batman for me. Although I did catch the Alvin and the Chipmunks trailer, which got a surprisingly solid reaction and lots of chatter.

Not much for that.
Good reactions for Chipmunks, The Game Plan and Bee Movie (I'm thinking this is going to be a big hit).

I think it should still do well (if Meet the Robinsons can pull $90m+ in March, this is getting $100m+), it's just not that funny of a trailer except for like one scene.

Ya but one can hope it does $150+ million domestically and $200+ million overseas because of the star power and the fact it will be the only animation movie from january-april.

I watched the Chimpmunks Trailer online it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Does anybody know if They brought back any of the Orginal Voices of the Chimpmunks because Alvin sounds almost the same.

Simpsons sold out the 7:30 show at Union Square (yes, I know it's the theater that "always sells out.")
But it did sell out 7 hours early.

Seriously that theater is alwasy sold out for any decently hyped film...Well it is manhatten it is sort of like going to the Metreon in SF(That si why I usually goto AMC Van Ness).
I am not knocking anyone. I thought the film was a fun film and defininitely hope it does better than I am predicting but I still just don't see this breaking out of the 30s just yet. What I fear is this film being massively frontloaded. But I do hope I am wrong and would love to see it do Squeeks insane numbers of 80-90 million...Actually I would really love to see it do $151,116,517 or more but I really can not see this doing the macho business it woudl of 8 years ago.

No one's arguing that. But the majority of movies don't sell those theaters out 7-8 hours before the scheduled showtime.

If all theaters are this jammed, then we'll see some spillover business. I think Chuck & Larry and Transformers will benefit the most since they have a similar demo as the Simpsons.

The Simpsons Movie
80% full - 5pm
Trailers
Daddy Day Camp
Horton Hears a Who
Mr. Bean's Holiday
Rush Hour 3
Alvin and the Chipmunks
Movie
My thoughts are in the review section, but the crowd I saw it with loved it. And I witnessed something that I've seen maybe a handful of times and never at an afternoon show - the crowd burst into applause at the end. If people everywhere loved it as much as my crowd did, not only is it going to have a huge opening weekend, but it's going to be in theaters for quite sometime. Hell, it might breathe new life into the show.

The theater I saw it at last night sold out 5 showings.
Trailers:
Horton Hears a Who - some laughs
Alvin and the Chipmunks - some cheers, few laughs
The Dark Knight - LOTS of yelling...couldnt hear any of the dialogue
Nannie Diaries - whistles
Bourne Ultimatum - cheers at end
The crowd I saw it with was ridiculous.

It was funny, and a short and fun. Nice B+ and fresher than some stale comedies this year.. the crowd reaction was HUGE.. everyone bursted into applause literally right after it finished, this will be huge..lines outside the door ala SpiderMan and Transformers.
