Post Question about Saw (warning :spoilers)
If you havent seen the movie, dont read on.

Right, I watched this movie the other night and wasnt too sure about the ending.
Was 'Jigsaw' the guy who was lying in the middle of the room all through the movies? And am I right in thinking the other guy who kidnapped the kid+wife was forced, in the same predicament as the other two guys?

Yes, the old dead man in the middle of the room was Jigsaw. The man who kidnapped the wife and child was being forced to do so by Jigsaw. His name was Zap. The old man was one of Zap's patients at the hostpital, I believe.

Yep.

He managed to lay there for the whole time and never, let his body move from breathing, never cough, never sneeze, never do anything.

He's old! He doesn't have it in him to cough. He'd probably have a heart attack from a cough or sneeze.

Or... maybe the two were too worried about what to do to pay attention to the old man in the middle of the room, who they thought was dead to begin with. 8-[

I don't sneeze once every eight hours, and nor do I cough all the time. If he doesn't smoke, then maybe coughing isn't that common! He didn't look to have a cold either. As for small movements, I'm sure the other two believed he was dead, and never questioned it. But, oh well.

People at the IMDB boards have come up with a plausible explanation for how Jigsaw could lie there for the whole time.

Remember the guy with the key in his stomach who was alive but couldn't move? Jigsaw injected him with a drug that temporarily paralyzed him (maybe an anasthetic he stole from the hospital), and from that, one can deduce that Jigsaw injected himself with that same drug in order to stay immobile in the middle of the room.

Your big novel you've been working on for 3 years? Got a, got a compelling protaganist? Yeah? Gotta obstacle for him to overcome? Working on, working on that for quite some time?"

(*Moron mode on) But how would he still be able to breathe without any help from a machine, if he injected himself with that drug? (*Moron mode off)

I could handle him lying in the middle of the room.

Him getting shot in the back with a shotgun and getting up and walking away.

The real doosey of the movie was the magical death poisen that only acts after like so many hours and only he has the magical antidote.

Christ just go to the dam cops, they will find you an antidote somewhere. Lets not even get into the fact that those poisens dont exist and that even if they did they would just slowly kill you and an antidote would not undue the serious damage I would imagine it would have already done.

To many "why are you doing that" moments for me.
