Re: Harry Potter 5: OOTP (INTL.)
BoM now has 13 million weekend gross instead of estimated 10.5 million from variety, screendaily and hollywoodreporter. But somehow also total decreased from 613.3 million to 612.1 million.

GOF's updated OS gross is till Aug 23 , 2007...and POA is updated till Aug 26, 2007 IF they all went up, then I think it may be likely they were re-released due to OOTP or Book 7. I believe the same happened with TTT when ROTK was released.

In another news GOF's OS went up 4m$ and now its at 606m$ and 896m$ WW Actually The Prisoner of Azkaban (from 540.3 to 546 million) and The Chambers of The Secrets (from 614.7 to 617 million) also went up. Most likely WB just revised old numbers.

Re: Harry Potter 5: OOTP (INTL.)
Instead of going up gross in Australia have kept decreasing in USD every week cause of exchange rates and $$ getting stronger After 5th weekend----$27,870,617 After 6th weekend----$27,094,538 After 7th weekend---$26,002,198 Whats next....with such kind of drops cause of exchange rate it will finish below 25m$...

This happened because BoM is too lazy to make right calculations. All what they needed is to take 6th weekend gross and add it to 5weeks total (exchange rates for US dollar increased on its 6th week). Instead of this they just took totals after 6th and 7th weekend in AUD and used current exchange rates. This is totally wrong.

Anything that makes Potter lose money is totally right in my book.
Don't bich, Potterheads, you have your $650m (or thereabout) monster, what more do you want?

Re: Harry Potter 5: OOTP (INTL.)
I think that now the argument that Potter doesn't do well in the Summer can be thrown out. The release of POA (Early June, and alot of competition. And the changes, director, cast, etc.) were the reasons why it's...I don't want to say significantly lower than the other 4..just quite a bit lower than the other 4.

Re: Harry Potter 5: OOTP (INTL.)
Well inspite of tough competition from Transformers and The Simpsons specially in OS ....OOTP have performed amazingly well...i never bought that HP can't perform well in summer...on the basis of performance of only one flick people generalized it that HP can't perform well in summer...though POA problem of lower gross was cause of shift in the mood of the flick...from kiddish to more matured theme in terms of treatment that went against POA...and few more like competition etc..
Anyways summer in OS also seems to be over...so now weak weekdays and strong weekends for OOTP

Anyways summer in OS also seems to be over...so now weak weekdays and strong weekends for OOTP COS also factored into POA's lower gross, imo. It is usually viewed as the weakest of all the films.
And POA still had more competition than OOTP. A 400+ Ogre and a near 350+ Spider. Much bigger than Transformers and Simpons. And more direct.

France---$50,424,805
Germany---$59,818,441
Japan---$69,268,943
Like Australia it seems $$ getting stronger against yen have affected Japan's gross...last week 1$=118.083 Yen...this week 1$=116.198 Yen...BOM's method for adjusting these grosses for exchange rate is faulty

Yup, BOM and sites like Screendaily fluctuate alot due to the exhcnage rates and them just doing a simple coversion each week.....
which makes comparisons quite difficult...

Pretty harsh drop in China last week. Passing SM3's total is now in question with no more summer or holiday boost; going to be close. Still, a wonderful result.
Shrek 3 really bombed.

It'll definitely make $640 million internationally or so. Simply huge overseas market this year. There's a very slim shot at $650 million still...
