 Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
Congrats to Xia and DIB2 #30 this week, but with a very bad score, mainly due to September Dawn. Given Xia's great preformance, any chance of winning the month again is cancelled.

29th, much better than what I was anticipating! Though the damn score hurts.

 Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
Actually surprised to not win, but great score by Pit Bull. And considering there was no way I was going to predict sub-$20m for Superbad or over-$6m for Bean, really no chance for myself. Congrats! It has been nice a couple weeks, being able to gain 100 points on Vovanik even though Vov had two top-20 finishes. A great months for KJers again.

Another great week for many KJers. Awesome job by Pit Bull (whoever that is)! This was the lowest Derby average in 15 weeks.

 Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
Congrats Corpse/Omni!
Didn't do as bad as I was prepared to do and might actually have preserved the win for August.

 Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
A major congrats to Omni & Corpse this week! Also an excellent job by Arban, BJ, and DIB2 for cracking the Top 20! I think a few other KJers are on there as well, but I don't know everyone's Derby handle. Also, a round of applause to xiayun for taking the August crown!

 Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
I'll be glad when Rush Hour 3 is off the Derby - I keep screwing it up every week. I totally don't get how it increased 288% this Friday.

It dropped by more than 80% on Tuesday, and it had a very strong increase the previous Saturday, all signs it appeals to the young audience, which leads to a big Friday jump and a strong IM. But I've entually learnt to give little importance to weekdays, especially when it comes to small holdovers. My overestimation for DS, though, shows I haven't completely internalized the lesson.

Thanks for the helpful advice, Omni. There's definitely a lot to think about. I also overestimated Death Sentence. Normally I'd expect a film like that to drop 50%, but I forgot that drops tend to be higher the weekend following Labor Day, so I should have predicted a 55-65% fall.

 Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
No. 12. Not much complaint. Congrats to Corpse/Omni and Craig Hack for the great scores! And another top 20 finish for Levy. EDIT: I assume the ranking could possibly change after they adjust the few estimates to actuals, so keep alive the possibility that Corpse/Omni could win two weeks in a row.

Corpse & Omni have been on fire lately - talk about adding more competition to the logjam.
