Yep amazing holds there...but i will wait for BOM numbers...variety and BOM numbers for weekends sometimes vary slightly.....

9.0% increase in Holland (675k, 11.40 million total
1.3% increase in Belgium (491k, 7.93 million total)

-20.7% in Germany (2.28 million)

-49.2% in SPain (366k, 22.44 million total)

That is insane, at least it is dropping better in Japan. It should get past 70 maybe get close to 80 if it keeps dropping like that. So how much did it do in China? I don't see any listings for that.

And it did opened in just one new market (Turkey)..

Two actually, counting China. It only had two days there though and so far I haven't read what it made there.

It grossed 5.3m$ in China...just 7.2% drop in Japan....

That is very good considering it did that in two days. It should do 15 million in china and has a shot at 20. 600 is now a lock at this point, and I think it's chances at getting to 900 are a lot better.

Very very impressive. That's much better than POTC3's $5.9m in its first week (5 days) and as good as SM3's $8.8m (6 days during May Day holiday week). It should at least see no drop next week since 7 days will be counted, and could do another $6m.

Actually the two-day gross in China is about 20m RMB, or $2.65m, from the latest sina news. That's more in line with what I expected after seeing midnight's report. The WOM isn't great, so 100m RMB isn't certain yet.

I don't get that because, WB posted the actuals from overseas, yesterday. The numbers went up by 3 million overall. Unless the movie is holding a lot better in other parts of the world.

Yeah, I'm reading conflicting reports because another one from sina said its two-day surpassed GoF's three-day total, which was $4.1m with a better exchange rate, so $5m is possible. Actual number should be coming out later tonight.

Yeah that is strange who knows it could be exchange rate or a goof in one of them. I wonder if they included China in the 24 million weekend? They might not have added that in.

Yep, over $5m in 2 days indeed, best first two-day gross this year. Of course, SM3, POTC3, and Transformers all opened on weekdays, but outstanding start nonetheless. $20m is possible, but the general WOM so far is mostly poor.

Well it will do 15 at least I say. 20 is the most, but probably somewhere in between which would make it the third highest grossing foreign film right?

Despite some restrictions on the release print numbers, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix had a strong opening in mainland China, grossing $5.94m (RMB 45m), according to Beijing and Shanghai-based cinema owners. The figure is the best first-week gross of all Harry Potter movies in China.

State-owned China Film Group Corporation, the only company allowed to import foreign films and the distributor of the Harry Potter film, declined to reveal the sales figure as well as the release print counts of the film, which is normally decided by the distribution company. But it is understood that the print count is around 450, slightly less than that the 530 prints for Transformers.
