2. The Shawshank Redemption- 1994
Probably the best film ever made, ranks #2 on my favorites list. Shawshank is just an complete journey not only into ones self, but a look at ones livelyhood, government, and the judicial system. Narrated by Morgan Freeman and starring Mr. Tim Robbins in his best performance to date which has many memorable lines. Talk about an oscar snub for the books. But easily one of the toughest years of all time with Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction being just as great. It's really just a film about a testament of the human spirit, that has never been matched and probably never will. Who would have thought a Stephen King Short Story would ever be this out of the park amazing? Theres only a handful

1. Raiders of the Lost Ark- 1981
Hmm, there is way too much to go into the film that changed my life the most, to put me on the path of wanting to be in the film industry myslef. It's not only my favorite film of all time, but I'll go on to note that it could arguably be the best film ever made. For it's genre its about as flawless as it can get, and everything in the movie works.
-Best opening of all time
-Best Character of all time
-Top 3 scores of all time
-Exhilarating action and settings throughout
-Deep religious and political themes throughout
-Easily a very powerful, and controversial closing shot
-One of the best car chases of all time
A film that doesnt get enough praise, and much Like Speilberg and Lucas who had redefined the film industry 3 times already, when they combined, they created one of the biggest powerhorses ever to live. A trilogy that lasted throughout the decade that was known for not only being high spectacle and awesome action films, but being high quality films that continue to stand the test of time. Soon to be four.

This is tough when you haven't seen 1000 movies.
I've only gotten 74 right now. (20 are from the 2000s, so sue me. Probably 40 from the 90s)
Makes me feel like I am forgetting a TON of movies, or just that I haven't seen that many.

Hey Thegun! 8 movies in your top 20 are also in my top 20.
You know what that means, we both share good taste.

Started May 14th, ended June 11th, or 28 days.
Sorry for the length, since the summer started I work basically 7 days a week, and just dont get on as much, unless Im working on the computer. My hat certainly goes off to those who can do a list in 5 days. I see that I probably could have saved time with less talk on each film, but I figured wheres the fun in that.
Good luck to those whose next

Unfortunately, he still is busy, and, additionally, less often online.

I had/ve a list basically made out, but it's at my comp at home, and not in any specific order, so go ahead and skip kypade. Might still do one eventually, but, yknow, not now.

Although I have never sat down and worked out my Top 100, I'm pretty sure my #1 would be Raiders of the Lost Ark, too.
Maybe I'll work on a list and ask to be placed next.
