I think this proves my theory in Japan. Potter was down and Transformers has a weak opening. Japan's box office is just struggling right now.

Yeah, unfortunate really, but Potter had a $15m opening with previews.........Transformers couldn't even muster much more than $5m...lameo.... I hate that market now

 Re: Transformers (INTL.)
Is the yen weaker this year than past summers? Maybe it partially has to do with the exchange rate?

I think it chances of doing 50 million in UK are not looking good becasue Bourne Ultimatum will kill it. It has done $29+ million so far while simpsons already did $49+ million. Transformers did impressive in asia only. I mean its highest grossing markets be south korea, china, taiwan and australia.

Looks like a moderate success overseas...great in some areas and a flop in others. Don't think there's any way for it to get to $700m WW now.

 Re: Transformers (INTL.)
Superhero movies are usually strong in Asia and relatively weak in Europe, and Transformers will be no exception. Japan isn't a surprise either, that market is just sick of big monsters (apes or robots, it doesn't matter) destroying a town.

 Re: Transformers (INTL.)
The actual number is 25m RMB ($3.3m), down 48%, for a $34.3m total. COTGF was at $33.8m after week 4, but it was coming out of a $5.1m week with the holiday boost. Depending on how hard a hit Transformers takes from HP5, it's going to be close between the two in dollars. COTGF will still be ahead in RMB regardless since the exchange rate has moved from 7.8 to 7.5 in the last six months.

It just hit the nostalgia feeling perfectly, as it was one of the first imported toys we (born in late 70s/early 80s) played, and this generation is the one that has both the time and money right now.

German total after 12 days is 1,081,940 admissions. Definetely won't make it to the 2m tix mark, probably somewhere around 1.6m...

Say goodbye to $50m. Looks to end around $25-30m. Lame.

Damn you MB for putting american soldiers and pentagon in TF. Remove all that crap and i bet it would have cracked $50 million in japan.

 Re: Transformers (INTL.)
Par's "Transformers" added another $11.8 million at 4,750, led by its third Japanese frame of $2.5 million. Michael Bay's actioner, which has far exceeded studio forecasts overseas, has cumed $354 million outside the U.S.
Without IMAX.....Looks like a $380m finish overseas and another $308m Domestic for a total of $688m.....huge but Japan dissapointed badly....
Oh well...with IMAX release it should make it to $700m????we hope...
