 Forum Upgrades -- The Sequal
Ok.
I am human. I had a lot of trouble today getting the damn spacing right on the menu bars. FINALLY got it, with all the images correct and in the right place. ](*,)
So there she blows. The index is gonna be smaller as you can see, and there will either be just a left, or a left and a right menu bar. I have not totally decided, but I am leaning hard toward having them both, mainly because it will give me much more versatility in what I can do.
I am looking into adding a chat feature at the bottom of the index, under the users online info. One where you would just be able to type and hit enter and it would show up. So it would be like AIM in a sense, but would not archive, and would just be for hello's and quick talk. Tell me what your thoughts are on that.
Give me your thoughts on the dual menu bars as well, what you think should go in them, what you would like to see in them.
I will fix the links in the menu bars tomorrow, but am not totally certain what to put in them. I have ideas, but we shall see. The Numbers will have its own "block" so that there is space between it and World of KJ. So you all know, The Numbers will now be linking to some of our reviews, which is a big help, so clicking on a link or 2 to them is always nice, I always use there BO numbers anyways ... cept on weekends. What The Numbers is going to do is, if we have a suitable review, they will put it on the movies page, a link to it. Not sure of the format, but don't really care, this is a big break for us.
If you are ever on another forum, and see a smilie face that you like, right click it, get the properties (a link to just the image) and post the link in the Stickied Smilies thread. I will upload it if I like it.
As always, I can't spell, and can't see ... I am too tired. Long day.
Leave me your coments, I will try and appease them as best as I can. Sorry if you don't like the new layout, maybe I can get rid of one or both of the menu's if there is some giant uprising against them
Good night (at 7:30am)

If you have a favorite link, that is relevant to the site, that you may like to see on the side, let me know!
Something Like RottenTomatoes, something that would be helpful to you. Or collegehumor or whatever ... lemme know

I think moon's site, BoxOfficeFactor.com should be in the links...or atleast his calculator program. Many many members use it.

You know to much Info can be a bad thing sometiimes. I liked the simple page a lot beetter. However I'm all for change. I voted for Menu's only on the left.

just left would be ok, l guess...l dont personaly like the right...if you wanted to include all the right's stuff, maybe you could make it longer on one side (since the forums go so far down anyway)...

I really appreciate all the updates, Eagle and all the work, but at the moment it starts looking a bit too overloaded and too crammed...too packed. Maybe somewhat simpler?

Well, it's just the index page, think it's not a problem to have both menus.

Nebs, take a look into the Games Forum, there is something you might find interesting and another thing that you inspired me to do
Sorry for going off-topic.

Yeah we should have a link to bom numbers, plus bom is what most of this site is from (the forums at least) so we should give them some credit.

Nice.
You know I'm in.
Btw, what's other thing? And what did I inspire you of? That's unheard of!

Ok.
I am up, and have read through all your replies.
I understand how you may think it is overloaded, and in the end just a left nav bar could be the right choice. For now I am going to keep both, add some links, and give it a little time. We shall see. I am open to change.

Can we keep all the menu bars on the left? There's still space on the bottom for one more.
Oh, and yeah, I think we should have the following on the menu bars...
- Box Office Factor ( http://www.boxofficefactor.com/calculate) Everyone here uses the calculator for scores
- Rotten Tomatoes ( http://www.rottentomatoes.com/) Critics reviews, etc.
- Box Office Mojo ( http://www.boxofficemojo.com/) Box office numbers, our "old home"
- IMDB ( http://www.imdb.com.com/) Everything movies
- DVD Answers ( http://www.dvdanswers.com/) Great for DVD news
Those are the sites related to movies. I'll have some up later for other topics.

Personally I think it makes everything look off center.
Tell me what you think of just left.
