Jon Favareau actually admitted during the conference that he is NOT making this movie for the whole world to start liking IRON MAN.
He is making this for fans.
Yep i was right in my post in BO section. This could get mixed reviews but will be supported by fans just like Transformers.

You all remember that movie from Disney called The ROCKETEER?? That's the 1st thing I thought when I saw that clip and I'm wondering if it will achieve ROCKETEER Box office numbers to which weren't very good??? Perhaps with MARVEL attached to it, it'll make more $$$......

It looks pretty cool, but i'm not sold on it. It def won't do as well as Batman next summer. Also, I'm going to have a hard time getting excited for May movies after the past few summers

Hell yeah!
I'd never even heard of Iron Man until recently, and even after I did, I had no real interest.
That has now changed!

I think it has better chance at strong critical reception that most comic book movies. At least according to this (terrific) preview video, it has sharp and witty dialogue, strong acting - especially from Downey - And it even seems to have a satiric edge and a social consciousness. All these things should appeal to critics.
I'm not familiar with the character and I have had only mild interest for this movie, but I'm sold now.

That just makes you drool the last 30 secs. The evolution of the suit itself was pretty cool too. This is on the list of things to watch.

It actually looks pretty good, I'm surprised to say.
At least they decided to actually show some footage to be excited about rather than another superhero franchise that I will not name...

Maybe... to me that's just CG stuff... the Downey stuff and the humor is going to be 75% of the movie. It's more important that that works, and he looks like he nailed it despite my reservations.

Can't really draw any conclusions from that footage. Some people talking and a little action. We'll see...
The enthusiasm from everyone involved seems to be there, some fine actors are starring in it, the odds for it to not suck seem pretty good.

The difference being Batman is already sold so to speak, not so Iron Man hence the bigger presence.

That looks alright, but nothing special. I have no clue who the hell Iron Man is though.

I loved that they used the song Iron Man in that clip. That's just all kinds of awesomeness.
Looks great.
