I think I am in love with Luna.
The film flowed nicely, unlike its overlong predecessor(s). And, far better than the dreary Goblet of Fire, it mixed laughs within the tragic framework.
Plus, it gave the kids an honest-to-god active role in the proceedings, which I enjoyed.
It wasn't perfect, but it can stand toe-to-toe with Azkaban. Now I'll just pretend GoF never happened, and we're back on track.

Joy Personally, I also wondered why the order was alerted too later. If Snape had warned them right after Harry told him that, then they should have showed up sooner. It always makes me wonder if he delayed warning them, liking he was playing both sides. I do wonder what got cut. I know these scenes got filmed. Hagrid getting sacked and Mcgonagall getting hurt. Ron and Hermione being named Prefects. I read there was a party scene filmed for them. And a scene with Harry outdoors crying that also showed Hagrid, Mcgonagall and Malfoy. Not sure what else got cut, maybe they will have an exapanded version of the DVD. Oh and also I noticed that it wasn't Siruis who broke the Orb. First he punched Lucius and Lucius lost his grip on the Orb. It actually really sets up HBP better because it shows why Voldemort is really pissed off at Lucius. Here's how the books went down (At least, this is what Dumbledore says went down):
Harry and Co. break into Umbridge's office to use the Floo network to get to 12 Gimauld Place.
Harry sticks his head through the fire and yells for Sirius. Kreacher is a lying bastard and says that Sirius was in London.
Umbridge pulls Harry out. Harry and Co. are in deep shit.
Umbridge calls Snape for some Veritaserum. He's out. Harry tells Snape that that Padfoot was taken where its hidden.
Snape says he has no idea WTF Haryr is talking about as a cover for Umbridge.
Once Snape leaves, he immeadiately checks 12 Grimmauld Place to see if Sirius is still there. He is. Snape makes no other worries.
Snape realizes later that Harry may or may not know that Sirius is actually safe. He calls the order and tells them that Harry and Co. are most likely in London. _________________

Personally, I think he waited and here is my reasoning. If he told Dumbledore immeditely. Voldemort would have found out and would have realized that he was still working for DD and would have killed him. If he didn't tell DD, he be in Azkaban. So he waited to tell the Order what was happening. You could argue he was doing this to keep his cover, but I think that is what happened.

Basically, the entire backround of HP6 starts off with death, destruction, terrorism, and general animosity about everything. And given that the ending of HP6 really isn't an uplifter either, I think that the transition from HP5 to 6 will be quite sudden with the lightishness of the ending we got. That's another reason I wanted the scene between Dumbledore and Harry to be longer. It didn't stress Harry's sense of loss enough, and thus the ending felt far too fluffy. _________________

That would have be my only complaint. If they had added like a couple more lines between the two it would have worked better. I also wish maybe they had kept that scene with Harry crying besides the Lake which I heard was filmed. My only other complaint which is really minor is they should have given Ginny a few more lines because it is going to look funny her push to the forefront in the next movie. I did like how they gave her more screen time and they showed off how powerful is though the didn't have her bat bogey Malfoy and let Ron have the credit of getting away.

A. 2nd best in the series. Only problems..some more characters could have used a bit more screen time, and Watson could have stoped acting with her eyebrows, all in all I loved it. Actors were great, story was great, action was fantastic.

I think some of their scenes actually cut. I hear the first cut was close to 3 hours. So that means the dvd should have 30-45 minutes of deleted scenes.

I loved it a ton. I'd put it below HP3 and HP4 but it's still in the same class as they are. Leagues better than the first two, which I still like and enjoy. I've liked every movie in this series.

I'm no Chris Columbus booster, but I really feel like everyone underrates his two. They are, by far, the best things he's ever made (I know, not saying much) and top notch fantasy films to boot.
Especially Chamber of Secrets. Marry me, Kenneth Branagh!

Overall, awesome, a few problems that the other films have never seen before from my opinion, but what is great is up there with the best.
On par with Goblet and just under Prisoner in my opinion. Yates is a good director, and will be welcomed back. Though I didnt have a problem with the darkness of the movie, I had a problem that sometimes the film itself was too dark to see what was going on. My biggest problem was that it seemed Potter was more devastated by Cedric's death than Sirius. It definitely should have seen more (With the great shot James- amazing line by the way)
Best part was easily "Dumbledoore's Got Style"
Minor complaints, very satisfying film, the first of the Potter films I may want to see the extended scenes to.

The film was pretty solid and had it's moments but I was a bit disapointed. I agree with whoever said the movie is kinda lifeless. It should have been about 30 minutes longer. B+

I would have liked for it to be a little darker, I agree. It was just dark enough for me to not have a complaint though. And I also agree about the scene with Dumbledore at the end...just a few more lines would have added so much, but whatever.

Fantastic stuff, especially relative to the previous entries. Yoshue is right - it stands next to Azkaban as the best in the series and a sure improvement over Goblet. I was enthralled on a level greater than ever before, fascinated and immersed in Rowling's magical world. This entry, in my opinion, represents the ideal adaptation of the novel - it flows beautifully and hits all the important keys, standing as a solid adaptation and a fantastic film.
