Not good at all. Although DH4 increased big time on second weekend. No. It didn't. The 2-day opening for DH4 was $194.241. The $663.060 is 9-day gross. But TF's openings don't look very good in Europe.
I hope you meant it as a joke

Well if it can get over the storm clouds before it (Harry Potter, Ratatouille) then it should have no problems ruling August..

Oops. I meant to say that the Top 4 positions are locked out with (HP5, AWE, Spiderman 3 and Shrek 3). Golden Compass to me has the most potential overseas. If it hits, it could easily do $350m+ grosser. Unlike Night At The Museum, this one skews even younger and will draw in the fantasy genre which is much stronger overseas....
Transformers I'm still putting around the $350m region until it opens in UK and Japan....if it doesn't gross as well as WOTWs in those markets then forget it.

Some more weekly numbers for Transformers.....
Sequels dominate international box office
'Spider-Man,' 'Shrek,' and 'Pirates' speak revenue
By DAVE MCNARY
http://www.variety.com/article/VR111796 ... id=13&cs=1
Recent stellar returns also bode well for socko biz on the foreign front with "Transformers" and the fourth "Die Hard" at the start of their international runs. And overseas biz should receive another jolt on July 11 when "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" opens with a powerful pedigree that's seen the four previous "Potter" pics generate $2.4 billion in offshore grosses.
Paramount slotted "Transformers" into 10 foreign markets a week before its Stateside launch in order to distance itself from "Phoenix" and take advantage of local holidays. That strategy worked especially well in South Korea, with $14.75 million in its first five days, and in Australia with $7.6 million.
In Italy, the toy-based vehicle easily took the top spot with $4.07 million in its first five days, giving energy to an otherwise flat frame. The Michael Bay actioner caused a 31% rise in Italo grosses compared with the previous weekend.
"Transformers" also rocked in mid-tier Asian markets with beefy five-day cumes of $3.5 million in Taiwan, $2.5 million in the Philippines, $2.1 million each in Singapore and Thailand and $1.77 million in Malaysia.

Yeah some great holds. Alot of that is to do with the fact that the biggest markets (mainly Melbourne and Sydney) are on school holiday time.
BRILLIANT HOLD FOR TRANSFORMERS!!!!! And Knocked Up opened very well. My session was 90% full last nite.

Japan has been horrible to predict the last few years. I am not sure if they are having a lot of money problems or what.
