Xiayun, do you have the ratios for previous Moore flms? Sicko's will obviously be pretty high. Thanks.

I've got Ratatouille pacing at $45-50M right now. If it doesn't pick up, an opening below Cars is almost certain. When I red-flagged Evan Almighty, it never did gain momentum.
Sicko is now on the front page, and I wouldn't be surprised if Ratatouille appears later. I'm assuming we don't care to track Evening, except for maybe the last few hours?
Zing, thanks for the ratios - I'm away from my main desk and didn't have access to them.

Sicko is in fewer theaters, but it isn't as controversial as F9/11, and having the reviews opened since last Friday should have absorbed a lot of fakes and leave today's ratio more mild. I'm thinking 400-500.

The only quasi-confident projection I have right now Ratatouille. I've got a rough projection of a $15-17M Friday for it but like Omni said, it's way too early for anything concrete.

Just to compare, Cars had 204 reviews at this point. 1 behind isn't too bad, Thunder.
EDIT: xiayun always beats me to my own observations.

Ratatouille needs only 1200 reviews to get a $20 mil OD, correct?
While getting a 60 ratio of course.
And only 1400 with a 70 ratio.

Yes. Children's films tend to tail off throughout the day, though. My early numbers assume 800-1000 reviews with a ratio of 55-60. They are right about Cars having a similar number of reviews at this point, but I've got a few other variables I'm playing with on my nerd graph. They could very well be worth nothing, though.

If it averages 50 reviews an hour, which is easily possible, that's 700 reviews right there, with 900 total.
So the minimum for this is $15 mil. Which would mean a minimum $45 mil weekend.

I'm sure one of those variables is the different release date, since it's hard to have a great start if many schools are still open and you are a kids flick.

What schools are these? It's almost July for crying out loud.

Great thinking! I have 4 different variables I'm using, and that's actually the most useful. The others are experimental right now. I'm still blowing projections now and then, but it's getting better.
