 Update on New Forum
I have been playing a bit with phpBB 3.0 RC1, it's pretty cool. I hope to install it on our own forum later this month, if all goes well, the week of the 18th.
You can see how it looks a bit here: http://72.36.250.162/~ericchun/forums/index.php
I will likely change the color to a darker tone ... maybe Black? Either way, it should be coming in the coming weeks, and with it will come many changes such as friends lists and more.

Yea, a different color scheme would be way better for it.
Im liking the additional things like Friends List and stuff more though. Will a Subscription option be available for the threads?

Posts being hidden by posters on your FOE list will be liked alot I'm sure.
Alot of cool new additions.

Also, if anyone wants to give a crack at designing a color scheme for the forum, there is a site that makes it REAL easy, just go here and move some sliders: http://beta.colorizeit.com/index.php?style=prosilver
Maybe I'll pick the one I like the most?
Who knows!

Sounds absolutely awesome. Darker toned sounds good to me. I like the black idea.
Now if I can figure out how to start a forum myself, with not much computer knowledge, I'll be happy.

I usually never put people on my ignore list. It takes a hell of a lot to push me into doing so. More than anyone has shown me so far.

In an ideal world, I would like to offer one theme that is lighter, like the current forum, and one that is darker.

Quite quite cool.
There are about 261 times more admin options than here. :-)

i've already been using phpBB 3.0 at this Nelly Furtado website burninthespotlight.com/forum for nearly 4 months now.
It has it's advantages and it's disadvantages.

i suppose it takes some getting use too, but it looks too bloggy, and putting everything to the right is not working for me.

I LOVE that everything is too the right, it's gonna take a ton of getting used to, but it puts emphasis on the post, not the person, and I love that.
But, I can also install a theme where everything is as it currently is, on the left, it's a simple change.

On vacation till Sunday. When I get back I have to work on two websites I am designing, then I will switch to upgrading all walks of KJ for the rest of the summer. So the new forum should be coming in July.

The Friends/Foes option isn't a good idea. It's going to stop a lot of threads from getting many posts, even good ones.

They will have the same number of post. Just don't put anyone of your foe list.

If the friends Foes thing doesn't work, we can simply disable it no worries!
In any case, I am back from vacation, and will set to work on the two websites I have to design next, after which, WOKJ.

Me putting people on mine isn't what I'm worried about...

If you value any of our lives, Eagle, you will not let her post in her rainbow colors again.

I have to throw in my opinion and I agree with Joe on this one. Any web board that implements the Friend/Foe option spends faaaaaaaaaaaaaar too much time obsessing where everybody shows up on people's lists. It becomes a popularity contest (more than it is now) and people feel ostracized, and it creates additional drama. This is why even large message boards either don't implement the feature or go moderated.
Not addressing problems by ignoring people doesn't help community.
I *would* like an option to ban all embedded images, like avatars and sig images so I can browse faster and browse at work. But not people's words.

What is friend/foe?
I figured that it just meant like, buddy and ignore lists. The former of which does nothing, the latter just blocks posts from appearing.

I think that's what they are.
I'd never use the ignore feature. Barring drunk spammers.
