 Am I The Only One Who Thought POTC Was Overrated?? I actually watched "Pirates of the Caribbean" the other day for the 1st time since I missed it in theatres and I heard so many great things about this movie and while I'll admit Johnny Depp was really good in the role he played, I also can't help but to wonder whether this movie got a little too much praise for it's own good??? I mean, it was entertaining in some parts and at other times, it was merely Ok, but I see that a POTC 2 is coming out so maybe it's just me.. Anyone else feel that way??

I was disappointed also. While Depp and Geoffrey Rush were very good, the movie itself just seemed kind of ....flat.

Not the best movie in the world, but it had a sense of fun and adventure, put it this way, it wasnt designed to win any Oscars  although it got nominated for one
B+

It is overrated IMO.Depp gives a very good performance worthy of an oscar nominations.But the film went on for to long and i lost interest in the final 30 minutes.

Pirates was excellent. Watch it again dammit....then all the little winks and whistles seem even more perfectly timed. You touch my pirates with even with a ten foot pole and I will defend them to the death. Engarde! :x

I dunno, I was entertained, and Johnny Depp did rule, but it really is somewhat over-rated, simply because there's a HUGE amount of people I know that think it's one of, if not THE BEST, movie ever made...

I can bench 150, 30 times unassisted on freeweights. I think I can handle both Eagle and BJ...my fellow Pirates fans deserve a little bit of pirate-esque adventure. So help me I'll give it to them!
