Damn doesn't someone think transformer legs could get killed now.
I mean i think it won't do more than $255 million in north america but with hp5 things could get worse.

Thats just stupid for the box office. Now there are even more films crammed into a 2 week span (Rat/Die Hard/Tranformers/License and Potter) - while the rest of July is pathetically week (Sandler, Simpsons and Hairspray).
Hopefully Potter will just burn out over the weekend. I still think Tranformers will hold better than expected.
As for Nov/Dec 08 - looks like the best Nov/Dec ever!!!! Imagine Prince Caspian moved to Christmas!

Wednesday record is gone for sure. I'm not sure what I think of this - it's closer to Transformers, but it's also closer to now, meaning less time to wait. Of course, this will hurt Transformers more than the other way around.

It would be wise for Transformers to just follow License to Wed and move back a day.

Agreed. July 4 itself is a historically weak box office day, so I think moving to Tuesday is a better idea.

In what other ways would it hurt Transformers other than to shave off a few millions from 2nd weeks wednesday and thursday's number? Using WOTW 2nd week wednesday of 7million wed and 6 million thurs, less than probably 8 million gets taken off. Its not too big of a deal really unless people are going to be holding out on seeing Transformers during 4th of july weekend

All the marketing on Transformers has centred around 7.4.7. Dont know how much better it would be to move it to Tuesday. But it does appear they have no choice considering Wed is also July 4th. That would also mean Transformers comes out 6 days after Die Hard and 4 days after Ratatouillie. Too many films crowded together while the rest of July is rather weak.
But I still maintain that once the rabid HP fanbase has seen the film that it will erode much quicker than Transformers will.

Man, that is going to kill their OW.
It'll hurt TF and RAT on Wed/Thu, but could allow for better weekends for both, as the main rush to see Potter will have passed.

Looks like the 5th movie will have the lowest three-day weekend out of the franchise rather than the highest three-day weekend of the franchise everyone was originally expecting before the new date was announced. This will likely break the Wednesday Opening record.

Captivity has been shuffled yet again:
Its release has been pushed from June 22 to July 13.

Good move for Captivity. June is crowded and 1408 has barged its way in. July is pretty empty.

No, it's sticking with 7/13 (well okay, it's sticking with not opening on 6/22), BOM had some software glitches.

Captivity goes from competing to 1408 to competing with The Strangers. No Idea what the Strangers is about though.

Thanks. It would have been better to go up against Sandler and Hairspray but oh well.
Palmer - The Strangers starrs Scott Speedman and Liv Tyler as a young couple cozied up in a vacation home are terrorized by three unknown assailants.

Per BOM:
Good Luck Chuck (fearing competition from Superbad, I guess) has been delayed from August 24 to September 21.
Jason Statham-Jet Li's action pic War will now open August 24.

I'm sooooo glad War moved up.
Good Luck Chuck should do Employee of the Month numbers, probably.

Yeah, very smart repositioning from Lionsgate. Late August has always been very favorable to violent action movies, and August was swamped with comedies, so this gives Good Luck Chuck a much better chance at not getting lost in the shuffle.

Yep good moves for both films. WAR could actually get past $50m and I always thought Chuck could sleeper had it not been so close to Superbad. Nice.
