Why is Hilary Swank included in Best Actress? I thought they didn't screen MDB.

A bit hard to overview, but fivethings I want to comment on:


1. Javier Bardem unexplainably snubbed for Best Actor

2. Million Dollar Baby and Hotel Rwanda unexplainably snubbed for Best Picture

3. Kill Bill Vol. 2 doing pretty well

4. The Phantom of the Opera snubbed practically everywhere

5. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow not up for Best Visual Effects? :?

MDB is also in adapted Screenplay. I think MDB is screened, but they decide to exclude it from Picture and Director because not enough people have seen it. There is certainly some weirdness. Both The Sea Inside and Maria Full of Grace are in the best foreign language film category, but no mention of them anywhere else.

They really love Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which made every list, even though it's not a technical-driven film. They also like Bad Education and House of Flying Daggers a lot. And The Aviator, even the other Kate is nominated for supporting actress.

That's weird for MDB and Hotel Rwanda. Also, Javier Bardem and Catalina. You'd think she would be nominated over Nicole and Renee. But I love the love for Harry Potter, Eternal Sunshine and Closer. My three top films of the year. Also it's good to see Kate finally getting some recognition, but probably only because she's British.

Ludicrous, in my opinion. Kate Beckinsale was wretched in The Aviator.
