Post Of All the actioners, I predict Die Hard to be the freshest.
Of all these films that look to open higher than 35 million, I think Die Hard will take the crown with critics.

Spidey at 61%
Unless theres a miracle, Pirates will most likely be rotten again, as with Fantastic Four. Following Rocky and T3 surpising audiences, critics, and having very successful runs, Im going with Die Hard. While that doesnt mean I think it will gross more than any of these. I just think the most satisifaction will come from it.

The Bourne Ultimatum?

Hell, I think even Transformers can beat it.

Bourne will for sure, barring a Spidey 3-like collapse. Die Hard could do alright, though, certainly better than how some others are fairing this summer.

yup I agree with Zing that Bourne will be the one with the best reviews, not a film by Len Wiseman that doesnt even have his movies screened. The only actioneer it will beat in ratings would be Rush Hour 3 and Fantastic Four 2

I actually messed up, I meant that it would be the first one to surprise everyone. I think Bourne will probably be higher as well. Harry Potter is practically a given, and Transformers is either way.

Big Success

So far Fresh

Die Hard- 77%
Ocean's 13- 70% (Not really Action)
Transformers 61% (still can change)
Spiderman 3- 61%

Rotten:
Pirates- 46%
Shrek the Third 42% (Again not really action)
Fantastic Four- 36%

It's also #3 of 25+ openers after Ratatouille and Knocked Up. It's Up to Bourne and Potter really to take the action crown, which I also predicted were the only two with a shot.

Good call. Never imagined it'd be so well-received.

Bourne Identity had 83%, Supremacy had 82%. So there's still a chance that LFODH might not be the best-reviewed action flick this summer, but its chances are better now.

With the third Bourne film breaking the formula and the throwing the premise of the book out the window, it could very well be another disappointing threequel. Rush Hour has never seen a fresh film, so that one is out of play already.

Still kicking after Harry Potter. Still well recieved and gave Die Hard the biggest run for its money so far. Pretty much its all down to the Bourne Identity.

Die Hard- 79%
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 77%
Ocean's 13- 69% (Not really Action)
Spiderman 3- 61%

Rotten:
Transformers 56% (still can change)
Pirates- 46%
Shrek the Third 42% (Again not really action)
Fantastic Four- 36%

Still #3 freshest of the Summer after Ratatouille and Knocked Up.

Good call.

Only Bourne can unseat it but I dont think it will be easy.

If Bourne beats it, it'll be by one or two percent. I think it might actually fall short like Potter.

Great call, though I still expect Bourne to beat it.

The Bourne Ultimatum: 94%
Live Free or Die Hard: 80%

Even though Bourne beat it, I don't think that should take away from the fact that it got freakin' 80%.

It seemed like critics liked everything this summer, kinda.

Yup I have to give a job well done to Bourne. When was the last time we had an all fresh trilogy. Potter, SW, LOTR, and Terminator are the only ones that come to mind this Decade.

I knew that if one film was to do it it would be Bourne. But thats pretty good that all three films were fresh. I mean, look at the compay its in.

Well technically the Spider Man trilogy was all fresh.

Though critics liking the 3rd one baffles me.

Yep. This was the most well-reviewed summer in ages, I feel like there was a wide release being fresh every weekend. I mean, four movies with over 90% at RT opened to over $20M (Knocked Up, Ratatouille, Hairspray, Bourne Ultimatum, and Simpsons was really close to 90%), which is extremely impressive.

They both were great.

SHOOT EM UP and DEATH SCENTENCE are looking mighty awesome and are gonna make up for the not so hardcoreness of both DH4 and TBU.

Technically I was right, I said it would be the freshest until Bourne, and that was the only one to beat it. So yeah, I'm crushed inside :good:
