69. Batman Begins (2005)
Before this film, I wasn't a big fan of Batman. I found the original Tim Burton film to be extremely overrated and the best of the original four to actually be Batman Forever. That saying, Nolan corrected everything that was wrong about the first series and fixed it here. The damn film is about Batman! I understand that Batman is all about the villians, but come on, what does that say then about the character? Nolan fixed that, and now I can't wait for The Dark Knight.

68. From Russia with Love (1963)
The best Bond film, although it's not my favorite (If that makes sense). Connery is at the top of his game here as Bond. To this date, it reamins the only true spy film in the Bond series. I'm not saying that's a good or a bad thing, that just happens to be the case.
And to bring up the point of music again, John Barry's 007 theme made it's debut in this film and it is fantastic. It's a shame he doesn't want to come back and do a final one.

67. The Sting (1973)
Forget the overrated Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, this is the best Redford/Newman film, with a great score from Marvin Hamlisch.

66. Good Will Hunting (1997)
If you're noticing a pattern in some of the films, it's unintentional. I believe this is the foruth film on my list to feature a psychiatrist/patient relationship. This one's the best. And yes, it also helps that the film is set in Boston and has a Red Sox scene featured in it. That aside, the performances are great, and the screenplay is well done.

Okay. Here it is. The most controversial choice on my list. Everyone is going to hate this pick (Except for maybe Jayhawk), but I don't care. Upon repeat viewings I have grown to really love this film, and I don't care what anyone says about it.
Are you ready?
Deep breath.......
Are you sure you're ready?
63. Superman Returns (2006)
So why is the film on the list? Two reasons. One I love the character. I love what he represents. He still represents that in this film. I may or may not touch again on this later. Second, I love what Singer did. He paid perfect homage to the first film, while managing to tell his own story. He brings a fucking kid into the equation! Now I know this aspect wasn't loved too much, but I feel it brings another element to the story for the next films to come. Third, Routh is Superman. He'll never replace Reeve, but he is Superman in this film. I also loved the interaction between Superman and Lois in this film (Bosworth was good if you get past her being a little too young). Fourth, and my final point, hearing the Superman theme on screen again was thrilling and I absolutely loved how Ottman adapted it and created his score around it for the film. I especially love how he adapted the Superman/Lois love theme.
That's enough on this one. If you want to read more, go visit the review thread to read my thoughts. And I don't care what anyone says, this is a great film.

Hey, I like SR. It wasn't perfect, but it was a pretty great superhero movie, and definitely better than the overrated Spider-Man flicks.

I'm glad I'm not alone.
I think the general consensus is that it's a good film, but not as good as the recent superhero films (Spidey 1 & 2, Begins and X2). They're wrong though.

I made one small mistake in numbering. Another film was supposed to come before Returns. I'm just going to edit the correct number for Superman Returns and then post the next film as #64.

As I stated in the other thread:
1. Batman Begins
2. X2
3. X-Men
4. Superman Returns
5. Spider-Man 2
6. Spider-Man
7. Hellboy
8. The Hulk
9. Daredevil
10. Fantastic Four
I'm not counting Unbreakable, The Incredibles, or anything pre-2000 (when the current crop of superhero flicks really started).

64. 25th Hour (2002)
In the extremely slow year that was 2002, 25th Hour stood out as easily the best. And this is coming from someone who isn't a big fan of Spike Lee film's. That saying, I found this one to be very well told and emotionally satisfying. I also think that in a very good career of performances, this is Edward Norton's best.

I'd post mine, but there might be some others on the list.

Your list is a good type of mainstream thus far Jmart. I think SR is great in the first half, bloody awful in the second.

60. Casino Royale (2006)
Thank god this film was made. If we were going down the path of trying to release Bond films that tried to compete with the likes of xXx, then the series was going to be fucked. Luckily, they decided to not go down that path and brought Bond back down to earth. I can't wait to see what they come up with next for Bond 22, next year. The series is alive and well.

That's the only problem I have with my list - it's a little too easy to see what will eventually be coming up. On the whole I don't mind, because these are afterall my favorite films. I still have a lot of moviewatching to do though.

I'm going to hold off on the descriptions for this brief time. I'll continue them when I get back tonight, but I just want to move this along for now.
