B-
Typical Oscar-baiting prison film, with an excellent performance by Sarandon.

The acting is superb, especially by Surandon and the always great Penn.
I think he deserved the oscar just as much as she did, and who knew Tim Robbins was a very good director. The overallness of the film is pretty deep as you dont know whether to feel sorry or hate him. B+

Good story, but boooooooring execution (of the film). I liked the performances and the end of the film was quite good, but the rest was a borefest.

This was the play I was just in for College, it holds a special place for me now, the depth of the film is quite great. I got to meet Tim Robbins and the real Sister Prejean in preparation.

A decent (if somewhat overrated film) with great performances from Sarandon and Penn.
