Lost vs. 24 - Your Favorite?
We've had Lost vs. Heroes now, but with Heroes not even finished its first season, I believe it is just too early to tell. Howevere, besides Heroes and Lost, there is another drama series with tons of fans around these boards and I thought what about facing off these two against each other.
It's a tough pick for me, especially only having seen the fifth "24" season partially (yet knowing all the spoilers about it already, sadly)...
The first Lost season is very much above anything "24" has ever produced or will ever produce. However, most of the "24" stuff is quite better than Lost's second season. Now the third season, while not as splendid as the first seems to be an improvement over the second and a return back to form.
On the whole, I'Ve just gotta give the edge to Lost thus far.

Lost easily for me. I don't like 24.
Just far too implausible and contrived for such a deathly serious anti-terrorist combatants show. For me I have no problem with sci-fi or fantasy shows like Lost/Heroes/Buffy/or even Alias(also not a fan), but 24's setting attempts to be as real world as possible, and so what it ends up being is a real-world show with massively illogical circumstances and holes. Thus, if I can't believe what is happening in the show, I can't take it seriously.
Though even moreso, it's just never been able to hold my attention... repetitive episodes, bland writing, characters I don't care for, yada yada, yawn. I try to watch it for the first couple episodes every season, it usually starts well then I drift.

My two favorite shows, but for me, Lost wins by alot. 24 is predictable in my opinion, while LOST, well I don't even know how to explain it. Lost is the best TV show on tv, and with the season finale coming up, it will validate that statement.

I'd take 24 at its best over Lost at its best. Plus, I think there are some incredible moments in all six seasons of 24. I can't name as many "holyshit" moments from Lost that I remember vividly in my head like 24.
Actually, I'd also take 24 at its worst over Lost at its worst. A few repeat plotlines in Season 6 of 24 beat out an episode of Lost about Jack's tattoo.

Is his...overall? Or this season?
If you're talking about this season, don't make me laugh. Lost has consistently been in the A range this season; I would say 24 is more like a C or C-

I never watched an entire episode of either. I've caught a little bit of 24 in late night syndication, but not enough to know what's going on. I also blind bought the first season of Lost, but with all the negative WOM going on for the past couple of seasons, I've kind of held back on getting invested with the characters.

On Lost, I only really like a few characters. Locke, Desmond, Claire (although that's more to do with my attraction to the actress, and not the character... but that's more or less the fault of the writers for not giving her more to work with)... maybe one more.
With 24, I'm completely invested in (or was invested in, depending on the character's current status) Jack, Chloe, Tony, Michelle, George Mason, Chappelle (when he died... before that, I didn't really care about him), Audrey, Teri, Kim, The Logans, David Palmer, Aaron Pierce, Nina Myers. The list may go on from there. I feel like those characters were incredibly established on 24, and I cared about them, hated them, loved them. You name it. 24 has had a bumpy ride this season, but you can't erase five years of top-notch television that 24 created, most of it involving characters like those I mentioned. If you didn't care enough about the characters, you wouldn't care about the various twists and turns that the show delivers.
I don't know. I think comparing the two is apples and oranges. But I just feel 24 is absolutely incredible. I still love Lost. But maybe only for the mystery of it all. And I can't really blame Lost for not establishing every character. There's a HUGE cast of characters. I think that was 24's main problem this season. Too many characters, not enough time to give them strong personalities.

For me Buffy still rules all My dvd tenure going through all the seasons in the last year made me a happier person.

The only season of 24 I liked was the 5th one. I sampled it many times in previous seasons and this 6th season and didn't care for it. So, Lost for me.

Lost
as misguided as it's become, it's still better than 24 which is really just as predictable for me as a CSI style show is.
24's first season was pretty hot though when it was still fresh and no one knew what to expect.
Alias did it better than either of these shows though, even at its worst.

These are my two favorite shows as well but it's still easily Lost for me. My tv-show love started with an awesome season like right now it's impossible for any other tv-show to unseat it. 24 is still really great too.

gotta go 24. Even though this season has been disappointing, 24 has had 4 great seasons 1 decent season and 1 average season. Lost has had 1 great season (Season 1), A solid season (season 2), a horrible six episodes (first part of season 3) and a very good rest of season.

Overall? 24 by a thousand miles. 24 has had 3 amazing seasons(1, 3, and 5), 2 great seasnons(2 and 4), and 1 good season(6). LOST has had one amazing season (1), one great season(3), and one good season(2). 24 just overpowers it.
I disagree wtih you I say Seasons 1, 2 and 5 are great and 4 was pretty close. Three was okay and 6, I won't comment on till the final.
