Questions on Grey's spin-off, Private Practice?
On Private Practice? some questions as I don't want to mix it into the grey's thread. watching the pilot now.
is it a done deal or when will it be decided?
is it a good idea, now that you have seen the pilot?
does this hurt grey's with addision leaving?
and who will become chief and what will becomeof mark now?
etc

Why the hell do we need another show that has ANYTHING to do with Grey's?

1. I guess they still have about a week to decide if they're gonna put it on the fall schedule but pretty much, it's expected to get a slot in the fall so... yes.
2. In my opinion, the show sucked and I won't be watching.... and honestly I don't see it surviving a whole season unless it runs on the coattails of another successful show.
3. I don't think it really hurts Grey since Addison wasn't doing much anyway lately but she'll be back by season 5 of Grey's for sure.
4. The chief storyline is so stupid. It's been a year. Is he going to retire or not? At this point, I don't even care. I don't see how any of this affects Mark... I think he's a great addition to the show now but they'll need to find something for him to do now that Addison's gone.

on mark,as this is such a couple paired show, I was mainly wondering if the show would keep him or make him leave with Addision gone.I agree he should stay.

I hear that if PP doesnt work out, Addison is coming back to Grey's, so I expect PP to bomb, reviews arent too good, and by mid season it will get cancelled, Addison should be back on the finale of Grey's.

I'm seemingly the only person who really enjoyed the "pilot".
But, I'm also iffy on Grey's. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't.

i liked private practice.
Even if the show only holds half of grey's audience on a different night (so if it gets 10m on say monday night) it is a success for ABC.

to me, PP will be very soapish. the drama between the ex's (not interested), the women lusting after surfer boy(not interested), Addison wanting a baby(not interested), Judge Amy's love life, not interested,Tim Daly and the needles(not interested),Tim and Addision,(not interested). etc.
so for me at least, didn't find anything interesting in this show.

IF the entire show didn't revolve around sex or if it wasn't an exact carbon copy of Grey's Anatomy in a different setting by which I mean everyone who works together has/wants to sleep with each other. We get that on Grey's and it works because that's what Grey's is. This needed to be something totally different. I know it was just a rumor but if they really did get Lisa Kudrow that would have really made it interesting. I could see her playing like this icy-bitch doctor. That woulda been cool.

The last episode really pissed me off. I love Addison, but after this I doubt I'll even watch the spin-off, which they should just forget about even doing and keep her on ANATOMY. The stuff with her character in L.A. was so damn uninteresting and there were no characters I gave a damn about. The best part was when we got to ogle Piz from Veronica Mars shirtless. Yum! Other than that I felt like we spent too damn much time in L.A. and not enough time at Seattle Grace, making this ANATOMY episode a chore to sit through and probably the worst I've seen. I think I'd actually like to see the stuff with Addison in L.A. that they interwove into this episode removed from the episode on the third season set of Grey's Anatomy on DVD. Judging from this sampling her spin-off is going to fail and had they not combined this with the episode of ANATOMY I think many people wouldn't have bothered watching after awhile because I can't imagine most people being too pleased by it. I don't want Addison to leave GREY'S ANATOMY. She's a great character and great on the show. She won't have a chance to shine on her own show if this was any indicator, and if it is an indicator then her spin-off will be TERRIBLE! I thought I would watch it no matter what because I love the character, but I won't be. They are making a mistake because they're greedy.
This last episode just pissed me off and wasted my time. I was so tempted to fast-forward through the stuff with Addison and all of those other uninteresting characters. They have absolutely nothing on the residents of Seattle Grace.
