I kind of agree. I left feeling a bit depressed as well.

Wouldn't the depression be more due to the movie itself? It didn't exactly have a happy ending.

I was hoping this would be nominated for an Oscar, to crown the whole trilogy the way ROTK's win did LOTR.

Do you guys think there's still a chance of that?

Not sure if that was a joke but the Spider-man movies were never Best Picture contendors. It will be nominated for a couple technical Oscars but not Best Picture or Best Director.

You saw it again today after you hated it the 1st time.. :-k Where's the logic in that?? If you didn't like the movie at all the 1st time, what would compel you to shell out $$$ to see it again, even with a friend??? Could it be that maybe you really did enjoy the movie more than your willing to admit??? That settles it folks: There's too much overexagerration in hate for this movie, even the reactions some of you post over the movie and people hating is overexagerrated so hang it up....

I didn't pay for it on both occasions, so I didn't lose money one way or the other.

The first time I saw the movie I gave it a C (Way to read up on that). Second time I around I figured I was going to like it a little bit more or hate it a little bit more. I went the other way. As a matter of fact, on the second time I made fun of the movie even a little bit more and laughed throughout the entire thing with my friend. That's the best way to enjoy horrible movies.

I'm so sorry to disappoint the Raimi brown-nosers.

I dont know if I ever mentioned this before, but it was a treat for me to see an ex lady friend of mine in the film. We used to act together in high school, but no college for her, she went right into acting. She was a blonde girl in a few scenes when Tobey was dancing in his montage on the street. She had lines too, but they were cut from the film.

I would give the movie a B. I think the biggest problem with the film is there is one too many villains. They should have either got rid of Sandman or saved Venom for the next sequel. I think they just tried to get too much into the movie. I did like the Harry part of the film. And his death was sad although, I liked how he redeemed himself. He sure got a better death than he did in the comic books.

Same for me. I thought Franco gave the least effective performance of all the villans, but his character worked in a few ways. They could have done more with Sandman and saved Venom for another movie. I also thought it could have done without Gwen Stacey(although I will admit Howard looked the best she's ever looked in any movie here). They could have had either the landlords daughter or even Betty Brandt take her place.

P.S. Does anyone else think the J.K. Simmons as Jameson is the best casting idea that ever could have happened to this franchise? All of his scenes are comedic gold(the audience lost it during the medication scene, the end battle where he tried to get the camera from the girl, and when he told he Peter "I didn't hire you for this position").

Yeah, he was really the main thing to get me to laugh during the movie. He was the only character I really liked besides Brock.

Agreed, and I thought Pirates 2 was a big disappointment.

At least I still have Shack, jmart, loyal, and Gulli on my side of the "this is a terrible movie" argument. ;)

How on Gods Green Earth can you compare a comicbook movie like SPIDERMAN 3 to POTC 2??? Where's the similarities here??? Apples and oranges folks..

i've seen movies more than once that i disliked many times. Movies to me are a social thing so if i've seen it once and a couple of my friends who havnt seen it give me a call and ask if i want to go, i'll see it again or if my dad wants to see it i'll go see it with him. Hell i saw Bad News Bears more than once in theaters. I remember having to sit through The New Guy i think 4 times in theaters.

I'm sorry but I don't buy into your philosophy 1 bit.. If you dislike a movie and you see it several times over?? Then you liked the movie, plain and simple.. No one is stupid enough to see a movie once, come out of it supposedly hating it then turn around and shell out $$$ to see 2 more times.. No way and anyone else who does this needs to have their heads examined..

If it weren't as long as what it was, you can sure bet people would've bitched about that to saying there was too much to cover and not enough time.. When one comes ut of a movie like this exhausted, to me, that's a good thing cause it held your attention the whole time..

Exactly. And Apples (SM3) are delicious, while Oranges (Pirates2) are disgusting. Pirates is about one seventy-first the film SM3 is - and that's based on my initial disappointment, not my new-found love because people in this thread are insane. :O :O

Just discovered last night that in the scale of entertainment.

Fast and the Furious 3 > Spiderman 3. Yup its that depressingly bad.

If they did that, you all still would've complained.. Follow the trend here??? No matter how Raimi would've done this movie as great as it was already, you never would've been happy.. Hardcor* comic fans really are too nitpicky with stuff like this..

I dont think I posted my view in here but I will now
B+/A-. Hate it or whatever, I really enjoyed myself. I found the first two to be really overrated but this finally brought some emotion into the film. I dont love Spider-Man because they try to make him too relateable but whatever, here he had emotion and it worked. THe action was incredible, Sandman's first scene in the streets was amazing. The acting from Franco got much better. Dunst, is okay. There is no plot really, just a lot of subplots. I loved Venom. And I FINALLY really loved Jamerson, he has the least screen time in all of the 3 but this was his funniest moment.

The first time I see a movie, I am usually generous toward it grade-wise. I gave POTC 2 a C on initial viewing (a subsequent DVD viewing has brought it down to a D) and I gave Doom a C- just because the FPS scene was so damn cool despite everything else sucking hard, but I cannot forgive this movie. I just can't bring myself to do it.

Now, I'll admit that after the first 45 minutes or so, I was all ready to support BKB and say that you guys are nitpickers who should lighten up and enjoy the movie. But what follows in the remaining 2 hours is one of the most painfully horrid moviegoing experiences I have ever witnessed. It was like I had fallen into the Twilight Zone, where time slows to a still and no matter how long you think it's been since you last looked at your watch, only 2 minutes have elapsed. This movie is mindnumbingly horrid and not even a solid opening can save it. Now, if you would excuse me, I'm going to try and repress this movie from my mind like I did with *shudder* Crank.
