What in the HELL YALL TALKIN BOUT?!
WHO. DA. FUCK. SAID. SPIDEY. GOT. BAD. WORD. O. MOUTH??
1. The movie rocked. Best of the series, Third best superhero movie ever and had harry lives woulda been second best.
2. Ok, I had only seen a an audience clap for a film ONCE aside from a huge reaction to ID4 and THE LONGEST YARD. It was BATMAN BEGINS first friday and it was in a sold out, 8:30 showing at the main theater my bro works out. The audience clapped at the end of that. Today when is aw spidey 3, ina sold out 400 seater...they clapped 4. SEPARATE. TIMES
1st time-all of bruce campbell.
2nd-harry catches the bomb, throws it back at harry osborn at osborn manor
3rd-when mj says ot peter at the bar "what is wrong with you"
4th-end of movie
seriously, i do not know what you guys are talking about, but for the 30 and under corwd word of mouth is literally through the roof. i went with my fiance, a guy friend of mine and his girlfriend to a 7:15 showing, and the audience totally ate this up. Ok
I KNOW THIS ISNT SPIDEY 2! And thank god! I hated it! Spidey 2 was a borefest with one decent action scene. This goes back to Spidey 1 mode and has 1 quick little clever scenes to make us feel for the characters. I couldnt believe so many hated it! Dunst sang fine, Maguire was fantastic too. His peter Parker was very likeable and sympathetic yet his so emo peter was so easy to hate. when he hit mj, literally half the theater went "HUH!" and gasped, and several peopel went oh my god!its very effective partially due to Mj is very likeable. FRANCO owns here, as does Jk Simmons. Gwen Stacys ok I guess.
But walking out of the theater-wow! there was a large group of teenagers we sat infront of who i heard behind us sayinhg how sick they thought it was. a qoute' "dude that was sick"-"kid that was phenomical" and "that fuckin rocked", aside from the grand applause the film got at the end.
sorry, haters. NO WAY This films multiplier is under 2.5. The word of mouth is a little under spidey 1.

Excel this is one time I agree with you. Too many people are overreacting and calling this the biggest dissapointment since Batman and Robin. That's laughable. The WOM is mixed for this movie if anything.

mixed at worst. Truthfully, a lot of people will be dissappointed from website slike this cause they like films like spiderman 2, huge epic greek tragedy of superhero fiolms, while this one is more raimi slipping back into popcorn blockbuster mode, and packs it with a lot more fun than drama, though solid acting makes the drama very effective. But again, i can see why critics wont like it.
im going to say it-those saying it has bad word of mouth amongst friends are LYING becuase the onyly word my bros heard, and he works at the theater, is that it is sick. all i have heard-though that aint a lot- from people in public is its great. At the restaurunat after a group of of people who were waiting next us over heard us talking about it, and mentioed they wanted to see it/one of em had and thought it was fanastic,=.
also was i the only one who found this to vbe very similar to SITH for some reaosn? Spidey 3 reminded me so much of sith.

Very true. I have now seen it with two different audiences that had a positive reaction to it(the second seemingly more so, last night I heard only one woman behind me crying, tonight I heard a few).

Don't let people on the board tell you that this movie has trainwreck WOM, won't make 300 million, won't have a 2.0 multiplier etc, etc. Remember that the internet constitutes a very small amount of the moviegoing audience.

no bryan singer does not need to take note of SM3. He needs to take note of SM1 & 2. and X-MEN2 which he did.

I'm going to be watching it on Monday afternoon, so it'll be soon enough.
My guess is that people here are genuinly disappointed, but I get the sense that some are pounding the film gleefully.

I won't go into too many details to avoid spoilers but the part with him and the little girl with the camera was pure gold.

Oh God yes! That part almost did the crowd last night in, but tonight the audience just lost it completely.

Can't tell you how mine reacted, because there were 30 people tops. But dont worry, this is the first ever midnight showing we have ever had, in a town of just 2000 ppl on a school night. I went THUR. But from the 30, there was very little reaction. Most of the reactions came when Jameson was on screen. But cant judge the reception with so few people.
Excel, I think you are looking a little too much into the negative comments about the film. WOM is NOT bad. WOM is mixed.

Gotta agree with ya here as well. All I've heard is that it was slightly disappointing but still an awesome film. WOM among people I know has been 10x better than SR (no one liked)/X3 (most liked) WOM too.

My theatre loved it, appluase at the end. I thought it was great, my favourite of the series, the most fun. I dont even like SM all that much. Jamerson pill part was the funniest he has been in all 3 of the movies, and this was his least screen time.

I would definately say WOM is mixed at best(like for SR and X3, but perhaps worse). Pretty much everyone I have spoken to has admitted it begins to fall apart when the butler makes his speech.

I don't think it will get bad wom, maybe Mixed. I think it won't effect kids and families and most people in the general public. I think it is mostly the Spidey fanboys and maybe people with higher tastes in movies that are more disapointed.

I'd say it's mixed at worst. Oh and BKB will be very happy to see this thread after all the bashing it was getting claiming it had horrible WOM. Good job Excel.

We won't actually know until we see Weekend Est, and we may not even know then, and will have to see it's second weekend drop.
