Great episode last night. The past three hours have really made up for the somewhat luckluster hours after the nuclear explosion.
LOGAN NEXT WEEK!!! Someone needs a shave...

trixster wrote: Fantastic finish to a great episode. Almost the entire thing was focused on Jack, making it a much tighter show. I'm glad they got rid of the President's sister and her non-stop whining.
The President's sister was just a terrible character to introduce. She was created on a whim and it's very obvious.
I watched Season 3 recently. D.B Woodslide (? -- whatever) did a pretty good job that season. He acted like a real human being; not a robotic clone. He served his character well, but turning him into the President is just too much. Since he became President, he's been acting very robotic and out of character IMO.
It's very obvious where Karen Hayes is: she stopped off for a facial at "Le Buotique" in L.A. It will be a pivotal plotline in hour 11.

Great episode, now it looks like Palmer is in a coma and Vice President Daniels will be in charge. I am not sure I trust Logan although he seemed pretty sincere.

no mention of jack's family and the show became solid again.
that kid must be fucked up. a grandad who wants to kill him, a father tortured to death, an uncle whose psychotic, a hot mom and a hot cousin. sigh.

I'd like to take moment to say the kid really freaks the hell out of me. I can't tell if he's suppose to be 10 or 16.
Anyway, last night was kinda ho-hum. Definitely not enough CHARLES. MOTHERFUCKING. LOGAN. but there looks to be a healthy increase next week.

That was seriously probably the best episode of the season. That or the 4th one with da bomb. Best of all, the White House scenes were finally interesting again, officially showing that you need a weasel in Office to make it work.
But next week looks even more awesome. Raids! Political intrigue that should actually be interesting! AARON. PIERCE. AND MARTHA. MOTHER. FUCKING. LOGAN. TOGETHER

Uh
Am I a total weirdo or was I the only one totally bored tonight?
Jack tortures someone. Jack gets captured. Jack relays information to a third party. Third party gets killed. Yawn.
24 is really starting to get tired really quickly, I think the show is going through a major slump this season.
Hopefully, the re-introduction of FLOTUS Martha next week will help.

That was a the biggest flaw of the whole episode, mainly because Jack was in a Chinese cell just days ago for this very crime. But I'm also really happy that the political stuff is finally picking up steam, probably the weakest part of the season. I just hope they don't take this chance to reintroduce Palmer's sleep-inducing sister.
Still, my is totally wired on the return of AARON. PEIRCE. AND MARTHA. LOGAN. AND SHE WAS THROWING PEANUTS AT CHARLES.

The actor is almost 20; have no idea on the character's age, probably irrelevent.
Haven't seen 2nite's episode yet. Still waiting for the Fox Myspace 24 site to broadcast it which will hopefully be in the next couple hours. Need to see Prison Break too!

I thought the episode was great myself. It is cool seeing evil Daniels as President. Next week does look great.

Good episode, but I find it unlikely that Jack would be so stupid as to repeat his prior mistakes. And that the Russian agents wouldn't just kill him after finding out that he cut the finger off of their consul. And that one Russian agent would believe what Jack is saying. A bit too unbelievable.

I definitely see where Libs is coming from when she calls the show tiring and repetitive. The premiere was intelligent, with the weaving storylines between Palmer vs. Lennox vs. Karen, Jack vs. Fayed, Asaad vs. "redemption," Kumar vs. White Suburban Family, and Palmer's sister vs. FBI. Now, the show's just getting silly. We have: Morris vs. alcohol (btw, did anyone notice how he just miraculously sobered up for this episode? How does that happen?!) and Jack vs. Russians (with the exact same twists found in every other episode this season). The whole patriot act attack isn't interesting anymore, either. We get it - the vice president's evil. Don't spend half of an episode developing it.

Last night's episode was the shit. I'm glad we didn't have to go through another episode focused on Morris' recovery and got into some interesting things, like the Russian dude's interrogation.
Next week is gonna be nuts.

Yeah, I gave up on 24 a few weeks ago. The premeire was great, but after that... mehhh. Same thing happened to me when S4 aired, the ads got me hyped up to start watching this show, 5 episodes in it lost my interest. I guess 24 just isn't my cup of tea.

This episode struck me as bla... too much of a been there, done that feel. The writer's are also starting to recycle -- not cool.
The ending was just idiotic. Come on Jack, going near the main exit doors obviously isn't a good move.
Good Points this episode: President Palmer gave his best performance of the season; less of Chloe's husband (his name clouds my mind right now and I know it; no, seriously); Jack's nephew didn't have the chance to scare Awards Jon.
Will be fun to see Ms. Neurotic '06 return next week. (I guess she really wasn't.)

I get the complaints about "24" this season, because I'm experiencing them myself. But, "24" has always recycled certain storylines. Maybe this season, it just seems like every episode is recycled from a previous season.
It's definitely one of those shows where I say to myself "It's still better than most TV", but I don't think I can honestly call it my favorite show currently on television. Shows that I would rank above it are Heroes, Veronica Mars, The Office, and The Colbert Report. But it hasn't gotten as bad, for me, as Lost.
And, did FOX advertise Jean Smart's return next week? Cause I had no clue until I came in here. I don't think FOX should be spoiling that stuff. Character returns are much more fun as surprises.
