It's because of American Idol being on from 7-9. That hurt everything. Even America's Next Top Model was unusually low. Next week Underbelly will do better. I wouldn't be surprised if it's over 6 Million again.

As many were expecting, American Idol had a sizeable drop after no more Sanjaya. I believe that's a 3 million decrease from last week's results show.
The overnights for the past two weeks have pegged Lost under 12 million while the actuals bump it over, so I wouldn't be surprised to see this week's number closer to 12m again... but I wouldn't expect a Sun/Jin episode to bring in more viewers than usual, so it seems normal.
Notes from the Underbelly is definitely another flop for ABC. It's too bad. And without having as much critical accliam as say Scrubs or 30 Rock I don't see it being renewed for next season.
I'd also say Jericho is a goner. It must be CBS's lowest rated drama now.
Medium and Crossing Jordan don't really seem to be doing that well either but with NBC in the position they're in, who relly knows what they are willing to give a second chance.

It was a two hour episode, hence the dip. The second hour averaged 29.4M.

Oh. I didn't realize.... which means the first half averaged 23m viewers I guess.
Wow... if you take that out of the schedule, Wednesday 8pm is like non-existent....
CBS: Jericho: 7.7m
ABC: Jim/Notes: 5.2m
NBC: Thank God: 4.45m
CW: Top Model: 3.82m
Combined that's not even as much as Idol in that hour... even with Idol's 23m 8pm average probably being it's lowest rated hour this season.

Too bad Jericho is at its worst in the ratings when it's at its best in quality.

Agreed. They could try out something compatible at 9pm. Something will eventually stick. And ratings should improve. If the return in January of 08 for Season 4 doesn't kill them, they could remain consistently solid at 8 in the ratings.

Indeed, I was forced to watch the new episode and its gone from dire to passable entertainment.

The characters remain the worst part of the show. I don't know anyone's name without thinking about it for a while. But it's a bit more fast-paced.
