 Kate Bosworth is Lois Lane
http://www.superman-v.com/news/04_12_31.php
I'm not a fan. She's been a bit pants in everything I've seen her in, she's astonishingly bland looking and she couldn't be further from the Lois Lane I've currently got circling around in my mind (Jewel Staite from Firefly... ah, she will be mine).
Still, I guess Bryan Singer usually knows what he's doing... He is, after all, the genius behind X-men, The Usual Suspects and... uh, Apt Pupil...
Well, there's always the chance that this is just a rumour. It's certainly not been confirmed as of yet. Nevertheless My shackles are up for the time being.

Kate Bosworth is really hot. I'd love to see her as Lois Lane.

Shes too young. Shes barely in her 20s and I believe the story was supposed to take place after Superman 2. They should of casted people in their mid to late 20s

I agree. As a matter of fact she just turned 22 years old and that is too young for Lois Lane. Someone like Kate Beckinsale would've been perfect. Hopefully this is just a rumor.

Bridget Moynihan would be a good Lois Lane, the dark hair, the right age, the spunk, and good in action movies.

She's a pretty lady and certainly capable of pulling off Lois, no doubt. But if Singer's going young, then she's definitely a bit too old for the part at 34.
It's weird, but it seems all the perfect Lois Lanes have aged past the part. Someone on another board I visit mentioned Linda Fiorentino, who was perfect for the part in the early 90s.
Of the current crop of sought-after-young-actresses, I'd go with Alison Lohman. She's pretty, talented and fairly unknown. Give her brown hair and a sassy attitude and she'd be perfect! Or how about Shannyn Sossamon?
Shannon Doherty?
I give up.

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!
What a charming actress she is! Possibly the best thing about I, Robot, in my opinion. I really wish she would play the part.

According to Entertainment Weekly online (ew.com)
Kate Bosworth is in talks to play Clark Kent's love interest, and Kevin Spacey will play his nemesis, Lex Luthor.

My whole anticipation for the movie has been shot down to zero. The Superman cast is officially younger than the Smallville cast except we no0w have a 45 year old Lex Luthor and a Jimmy Olsen approaching 30 but playing interns to some early 20s reporters.

Well Gene Hackman was 47 when he was Lex in the original Superman, while Christopher Reeve was only 26, so I guess he can be.

Why don't they just go all the way and have a Batman with all 10 year olds. Like Home Alone with costumes.

Now that they've royally screwed up the casting, I've officially lost interest in this project. They should've taken the advice of many fans (of more than a year ago) and used the Smallville cast, which is pretty much perfect.
Kevin Spacey as Lex? So how precisely could he have been teen-aged Clark's pal? Not only that, but Spacey is sure to ham it up, so you might as well get Gene Hackman back.
Stick a fork in this one. (Singer's over-rated anyway.)

Could someone fill me in on why Spacey's a bad choice? He's pulled off EVERY role (that I know of, heh). What exactly's wrong with his age in this film?
Gracias.

In the comic books, Lex is only a few years older than Clark. In fact, they were in a few classes together at high school.
Lately, Spacey (since winning his Oscar?) has been phoning in his performances. (Spacey as Bobby Darin? WTF!) He's gotta be at least 15 years older than this Routh guy. Not only that, but who's going to buy this hambone as the most dangerous man on the planet, huh?

This seems like a case of bad casting IMO. They need a damsel like Jennife... nah im just kidding
I think Teri Hatcher was great in her role on tv - but i know they are going to need a different actress so maybe Sarah Michelle Gellar or someone who can do the whole dumb-but-sexy-but-damsel-but-kickyourassanyday thing.

Having turned 40 about a month ago, Teri's officially too old to play Lois. (Not that she needs the work these days.)
But you never know with Smallville. Everybody seems to show up there, sooner or later.
And it's quite brilliant... the way Clark and Lois get to know each other before their Daily Planet gigs. Lois would seem to be about the same age as Clark. In the first movie, Margot Kidder seems a bit older than Clark... but not by much. They always look GREAT together.
