Really? What were it's ratings? You have a source?

Tim Minear just can't seem to catch a break...

Overnight ratings were like 3.8/6, which would likely indicate about 6 million viewers.

Well, that's about on par with what the Simpsons has been pulling in of late, isn't it? So it's not a total failure, though hardly ideal.

I'm pretty sure it's not great considering the massive promotional blitz Fox gave the show.

We'll have to see how it does in the Prison Break slot, though.

My bet: even worse.

Ah well, back to the drawing board, Mr. Minear.

Yeah, Another Tim Minear FOX Heartbreak. Heh, at least this got a tad more viewers than Wonderfalls, Firefly, and The Inside had in their entire runs.

I actually liked it.

And the guy who plays Winston (from the half-brother team) is the same guy who played Hilda's ex in Ugly Betty (?) and he's pretty dreamy here, in a hot, sensitive, thug... way...

I hope it finds an audience tonight. They honestly should have either given it the post-Idol slot, or waited to air episodes before 24, and not air a 2-hour premiere on Sunday night. Now if someone new finds it tonight, they won't even bother to watch (if they wanted to) because it's already on Episode 3.

Anyway, I watched it again and really enjoyed it. It's definitely in the same category as Prison Break, although a bit more exciting. I hope it finds some sort of viewership tonight. How long will it air?

I'm really digging the Crazy Mom in a Minivan character. God I wish she actually shot Ivy (the Katrina survivors--have they revealed that yet?--were the most annoying among the races by far).

Seriously, they aired the pilot of The Wedding Bells post-Idol, but not this? And air this opposite The Amazing RACE.

I think it will get around 5-6 million, right on par with a repeat Prison Break in its first season. A miraculous jump to 8 million would be nice though.

LOL I heard that from the promos, but I was asking if they mentioned that on the show since I don't remember hearing it there. If not, I guess, they have a flashback (YAWN!).

Kinda sorta. Although, I don't recall seeing Mr. Bean in the pilot.

Too bad this wasn't airing on FX or something. It would solve quite a few potential problems:

-It could survive on 3 mill a week numbers.

-The show could probably keep the same cast plotlines going for a few seasons, at 12-13 eps a year.

I wonder if WOM will bring the numbers up any. I mean, the show got nearly the same numbers on Monday. Would it really be hard for some of those to explain to their friends that Drive is about an illegal race for $32 million?

I've actually heard some people spreading good word about it, and typical mainstream tv watchers at that too.

I honestly think that if this premeired after Idol with some better(quality>quantity) marketing, it would be a bonafide hit. Fox dropped the ball big time.

Seriously, it has the "what the hell is going on?" vibe that Lost and other similar shows have, and it's got fast cars racing around the world for $32 million. It should be at least in the double digits in the ratings.

It's too bad that 24 is the only show it could really work with, outside of Idol. The shows aren't very compatible.

Bubble burster here, reporting for duty.

TV Guide is reporting that Fox has axed Drive after less than three weeks on the air.

Wow, and it seemed like the networks were getting better about not immediately axing low-rated shows.

A full length treatment of Fray perhaps.

FOX can go fuck themselves. They gave The War at Home two years to prove it's a worthless, generic, unfunny sitcom that can pull in no better than 65% of The Simpsons' audience, in the post-Simpsons timeslot of course. They gave Standoff 11 weeks next to House, with some disgraceful ratings. They even pushed Bones so hard that it's now considered a modest hit, even though the ratings still aren't that great, even with Idol as its lead-out.

Goddamn them for not trying Drive after Idol for the premiere, or at least debuting it at a one-hour premiere pre-24.

I wonder how many episodes have actually been filmed.

From what I've read, six episodes. Which means that we'll probably be treated to the two unaired episodes on FOX.com.

I haven't had the misfortune of a show that I really enjoy ending after a few weeks in a long time. Not since The Lone Gunmen.

Not since Wonderfalls for me. Minear is one of the best in television, and he can't get lucky to save his life. Meanwhile CBS pumps out generic procedural after generic procedural... blehhhh. Tv continues to break my heart.

Word is, the final 2 episodes will air on consecutive Fridays in May. I really wish they had premiered it after Idol to at least give it a fighting chance. They gave the post-Idol slot to the horrid Wedding Bells so why not Drive, a much more entertaining show?
