Fuckin' A.

Anyways, Goldie, Zingaling asked me if closing the thread was appropriate (since I'm so arrogant and I lack modding-skills, I of course, didn't notice it ;)) and I agreed that it was. I told him that I didn't want to deal with it though, so if he wanted to close it, he could.

Frankly, he's right, and the thread will remain closed. It does take discussion away from several other threads. As moderators, we've gotta keep the board (or at least the section) meticulous and nice 'n tidy. And there's soooo many other threads that can be used to input commentary about 2005 releases. Your own thread (and while we're at it, one that is REPLETE and FILLED with HORRID grammar - so don't get on BacktotheFuture's case about it) isn't necessary; Put your comments in another thread that's somewhat related. Threads that are somewhat similar make the forum boring, and, before you know it, the section will be dead. For example, we can't have 25 Meet the Fockers threads in the Box Office section because it limits people to discussion on one thing. We've got to try and offer as many topics as possible without having the user go out and seek a thread using the search function.

I wouldn't be so mad if these rules applied to the Box Office section and the other forums - maybe the MODS should check those forums for threads to be closed.

Wait...

You're MAD about this? Moderators aren't psychiatrists (though, I may point you in the direction of lovemerox) so we can't really deal with your personal feelings/moods.

Goldie, the fact of the matter is, no one can deal with you if you're always going to twist statements and point the blame in someone else's direction. In almost any profession in which you deal with others, you can't get anywhere if you don't listen and "digest" what the other person is saying. And if you can't DROP something you disagree with and instead choose to ramble on endlessly about it to wit's end, you won't get anywhere either.

Basically, Goldie. Worry about yourself. Don't focus too much on other people. Politely bring up something you have an issue with by PMing a mod/admin as we'll try to deal with it. If we agree with you, we'll deal with it privately and if we don't, we'll respond and tell you why we don't. But, being hostile and ruthless in your attacks doesn't make your word any more valid. In fact, it makes you less credible.

You've exhausted the topic. You've made your point (well...). And, I disagree. I don't see anything wrong with what Zingaling did. If you do, PM Eagle OR bABA and explain why you disagree, but, please, don't mention anything more about it here.

Since you seem to need everything spelled out for you, I am only mad because I see a good interesting thread that was closed while the MODS allow dup, wrong forums, etc to remain open.

And there are plenty of other threads that talk about general items. Asking about what films people are interested in can only be done in a general thread

OR WOULD YOU RATHER ME SET UP 50 THREADS - ARE YOU INTERESTED IN THIS MOVIE.

And as a MOD, you should be able to see the dup or wrong forum threads - just by looking at the first 2 pages. It isn't so hard that you need a PM since you seem to ..........

Goldie, you've completely changed the reason for why you are making this thread. You're mad because I closed your thread, and then you seem to have a problem with "dupe" threads in the box office section? List all the dupes from the first couple of pages you can find, and we can actually discuss that. Do that instead of arguing about stupid things and saying there are dupe threads but not even saying which ones.

And no, we don't need 50 threads saying "are you interested in...?". You are misunderstanding. Your thread took away from the threads already made. I never said "make individual threads for every movie you like or want to see". Never.

Goldie and everyone else.

The thread you created goldie, was fine. Nothing wrong with it, and could have potentially created discussion on 2005. Thats fine and I don't fault you for making it.

However a quick search for 2005 movies will produce a great many threads very similar.

Movies you have seen.
http://www.worldofkj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2850&highlight=2005+movies

What your looking forward to in 2005
http://www.worldofkj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=839&highlight=2005+movies

How many movies have you seen + description
http://www.worldofkj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2868&highlight=2005+movies

Potential 200+ films in 2005
http://www.worldofkj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1897&highlight=2005+movies

Now goldie I am not saying that your thread won't offer anything new. The main problem that I see with it is that the thread, if utilized for your intended purpose, will get GIGANTIC to the size of arch's Phantom thread. The problem is that the discussion has no way of staying centered, and someone who wants to join the thread may find themselves lost and only able to keep up with recent discussion. That and those who did reply seemed to talk more about what they were interested in, not the aspects of the movie, something for which we already have a thread.

Now would I have closed it? Honestly ... no I wouldn't have. I would have trusted that it would have fell off the front page after a day and been done with. But that said, it is in a way diluting the forum, and you should be able to see that.

Everyone should know, that I have total confidence in the moderators I have appointed. Zingaling has done a great job, and is constantly getting better at how he approaches and handles things. Him, torrino, and every other mod have a very tough job. They are not trying to step on your shoes, rather complete the task I have set before them, and that is to essentially become farmers and work to harvest the best possible disscusion in the sections they moderate.

I don't like the title of the thread, or the general way that you talk to and essentially call out Zingaling in it. That is unfair to him, and can not POSSIBLY be good for anything. I have talked to you various times through PM goldie, and have always come away thinking that you were nothing but a nice guy who enjoyed movies as much as myself.

Please everyone try and show each other the common curtesy and respect that we all know we deserve. Such petty differences and disagreements seem so ridiculous and I hope we can all move on. Not just goldie, all of us.

Consider this matter closed. The thread will be opened, if you want to talk in it, do so, but try to keep it on topic to what goldie has suggested. Goldie, please don't make threads singling out moderators, they deserve better and I don't appreciate it :(

You can all feel free to PM me with any questions.

:Respect:

KJ
